Love 'em. Hate 'em. Kinda-sorta are okay with them, it doesn't matter, because Fall Out Boy is the December Xbox Live Artist of the Month.Fall Out Boy's AoTM honors come in the wake of their upcoming album release Folie à Deux which includes their recently released single "I Don't Care" which coincidentally is already available as Rock Band DLC. As with all Artist of the Month bands, new and old video content will is available for download off the Marketplace. Interesting album art, eh?

Going back to their traditional roots of only awarding one Artist of the Month (darn you May and your four award honors!), Xbox.com has given July's prestigious monthly artist honors to the latin rockers Circo. Solely based on the band picture above and not hearing a lyric or note from their album, we think they're pretty okay fine. Anyone who has a cranium tattoo is semi-cool in our book. So, as with all AotM announcements, you can grab a few Circo music video downloads off the Xbox Live Marketplace at your convenience. Circo, kinda like circle, but not really.

Getting all the video game love lately with some newly released Rock Band DLC, Disturbed and their new Indestructible album have caught Microsoft's eye resulting in Disturbed being June's Xbox Live Artist of the Month. Hip hip hooray! And, as with all AoTM artists, U.S. fanboys can hit up the Xbox Live Marketplace for a free video download to listen to, take in and enjoy. Also, after playing "Inside the Fire" on Rock Band for the first time last night, we 100% agree with Disturbed's AoTM honors, because that song is crazy good. Crazy, crazy good.

Because one just isn't enough, this month Microsoft has crowned four bands, yes four different bands May's Artist(s) of the Month. Freakin' epic! As part of their honor, each band has a little blurb over on Xbox.com and video content goodness on the (U.S. only) Xbox Live Marketplace. Anyway, we should just tell you who the four Artist(s) of the Month are shouldn't we? We're such teases. Ahem, we proudly present to you May's artists which include Voltio, Tyga, Death Cab for Cutie and Dierks Bentley. And, sadly, we only have ever heard of Dierks Bentley.

Leaving behind memories of Bow Wow and Omarion, we're heading into a new musical direction with Xbox.com's Artist of the Month series where, for the month of April, Avenged Sevenfold has been awarded the monthly crown.Avenged Sevenfold's Artist of the Month honors come riding on the heels of the October 2007 "celebrated" release of their self titled Avenged Sevenfold album which ultimately results in, for a limited time, a free Avenged Sevenfold music video download off the Xbox Live Marketplace. That's it kids, Avenged Sevenfold is your April Artist of the Month. Enjoy.

Put down the rolled up newspaper and break out the doggy biscuits, because Lil Bow Wow and his good pal Omarion are this month's Xbox Live Artist(s) of the Month. Word! Both Bow Wow and Omarion got to share this month's AotM honors, because of their collaborative album Face Off which, according to the press blurb, showcases a "quantum leap in creative and artistic musical expression". And here at X3F, we're supporters of any and all quantum leaping. So go ahead and download their first Face Off single "Hey Baby (Jump Off)" from the XBLM and maybe, if you're up to it, grab a copy of the album at retail. If you do make the purchase, not only will you be supporting both Bow Wow and Omarion, but you'll also be supporting quantum leaping as well.

Just when you thought it was safe to turn on your radio or download music off the Xbox Live Marketplace, think again. Lenny Kravitz is February's Xbox Live Artist of the Month and he's demanding a revolution. A love revolution.Celebrating the release of his eighth album It Is Time For A Love Revolution, Kravitz earned Artist of the Month honors and has XBLM downloads to prove it. If Kravitz is your thing, make your way to the music video section of the Marketplace where you'll find a free video download as well as some behind the scenes footage that should make you want to start a love revolution. Or so that's the effect we expect Kravitz's music to have on listeners. Love and peace guys, love and peace for all.

Michigan's high-energy musical group Chiodos (formerly The Chiodos Brothers) are January's Artist of the Month and that means one thing ... free music video download off the XBLM. Woohoo! Chiodos' single "Baby, You Wouldn't Last a Minute on the Creek" from their Bone Palace Ballet album will (eventually) be a free download off the US Marketplace. A music video that probably looks like the one embedded above. Chiodos. Not to be confused with those other crunchy orange snacks.

We're going to preface this post by saying we aren't trying to come across as bitter or jaded, but when we're underwhelmed then that's how things go down.Coming off the release of Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces, rock band Seether is this month's Xbox Artist of the Month (streamers and confetti cannons explode!) But we're sad to report that the label "Artist of the Month" doesn't seem to carry much weight anymore. There is no music, no music videos, no making-of shorts, no anything Seether based to be found on the XBLM. We miss the glory days of downloading multiple music videos and making-of documentaries when an Artist of the Month was announced. Lately, it has been nothing but making-of shorts and well ... that's about it. Come on content masters over at Xbox Live, give us a reason to care about Xbox Artist of the Month bands ... we're giving up and falling asleep.

There has been a bit of a drought as it pertains to the Xbox Live Artist of the Month campaign, but the musical rains have started to trickle again with Kanye West becoming October's Artist of the Month. In celebration of his MTV Music Awards win the release of his album Graduation and chart topping singles "Stronger" and "Can't Tell Me Nothing", Kanye struts onto the XBLM with free music video downloads ... erm, so we thought. According to Xbox.com there are supposed to be music videos up on the Marketplace as free downloads, but after taking a gander through the XBLM we found it to be Kanye'less. Oh well, maybe in a few hours, days, or weeks the Xbox Live Gods will come around and upload the music video goodness. And we can't wait, because we love those white sunglasses he sports in his "Stronger" video. Window blinds sunglasses FTW!

In celebration of their latest album release Libertad, rockers Velvet Revolver have been honored with the title of July's Artist of the Month. Head onto the XBLM to download the making of video of their music video "She Builds Quick Machines", but not actually the music video. Odd, we know. If Velvet Revolver doesn't excite you check out Ryan Adams' very "unique" music video for "I Taught Myself How to Grow Old". Both downloads are free, so download at your own musical risk.

Self proclaimed "Prince of Darkness" Ozzy Osbourne is June's Xbox 360 Artist of the Month. His new album BLACK RAIN has been a long time coming, but has finally hit retailers with a helpless scream. And as with any Artist of the Month you can download the "I Don't Wanna Stop" music video for free off the Marketplace. It's also entirely possible that you can't understand a word that Ozzy sings, so you may have to take in the video's visuals more than the actual singing. Never less, Ozzy is this month's featured artist, so try your darnedest and give him a listen.[Via Game Stooge]

We don't usually mention the artist of the month on Xbox Live, but this month actually features a pretty good band, Modest Mouse. Most people will recognize Modest Mouse for their song, "Float On." Xbox Live users will be able to download a video of their latest single "Dashboard" from Marketplace (though we've been unable to find it yet). Modest Mouse is also expected to participate in an Xbox Live Game with Fame session some time soon.We have to ask you, dear readers, with so many games to play, do you pay attention to the artist of the month?[Via Xbox Solution]

The Artist of the Month for August is (drum roll please) Audioslave. Be prepared to game with Audioslave in Madden 07 (that's football, right?) and download their video, "Original Fire." There's even a chance to win an Xbox 360 and Audioslave's next album. It's all part of the hoopla surrounding this "Madden" I keep hearing so much about. If you're interested in playing Madden with the group, click here for details. So, does anybody care about Artists of the Month? Just curious.

  • Oy-yoy-yoy: Jessica Simpson partners with Xbox

A recent press release pimping Jessica Simpson's new album mentions Xbox as an "online partner," which makes sense given the cross-promotion deal Microsoft inked with Epic Records a while back. Does this mean Simpson's meshuggina mammaries and minimal talent will be showing up on Xbox Live in the near future? It would a appear so. Personally, I prefer the Chabad Hasidic reggae stylings of the current "Artist of the Month," Matisyahu, though I would like to see Jessica take a shot at spelling "Hasidic" in a downloadable video. I'm not accusing Microsoft of taking a step backward musically, but "King Without a Crown" to "Shiksa With Her Top Down" seems like a pretty steep spiritual cliff.
