PSP Fanboy review: Brave Story: New Traveler
RPG's have taken a while to get their bearings on the PSP, but lately there have been a much larger influx of the genre onto our favorite handheld. One of the most recent releases is Brave Story: New Traveler. The game is based off of a manga, so it instantly has a stigma against it -- much like movie-licensed games have a stigma against them. How does this game work out, then? Is it an open and shut case, or there a diamond in this game that you'd be a fool to ignore? Brave Story gets official release date
Game Republic, creator of the Genji series, is bringing a new RPG to the PSP in two weeks time. Entitled Brave Story, this RPG tells the story of a boy that must enter the world of Vision in order to save his friend from a mysterious illness. Through the game, the hero can build various attributes, such as Friendship, Courage, and Growth.Like many other RPGs, new accessories can be forged by collecting and combining the right materials. In addition, players can collect special birds for use in mini-games. Game Share and Network features will allow players to trade birds and mini-games with others.Check out screenshots and art of the game in our galleries below. If you're like me, you've watched plenty of the old Batman show your youth. Kerplam! Kablooey! PSP's upcoming Brave Story seems to have your standard run-of-the-mill RPG fare, but with some very comic book esque battles. However, let's not forget that PSP is home to Monster Kingdom and The Legend of Heroes series. Brave Story should fit the bill nicely. Dragoneer's Aria looks pretty interesting as well. XSEED announces new RPGs: Dungeon Maker & Brave Story
PSP is no stranger to the RPG genre. XSEED, publisher of the upcoming Valhalla Knights, is preparing two more adventures for PSP gamers to conquer:Dungeon Maker: Hunting Ground has you creating dungeons, floor by floor, in order to capture an elusive beast, the legendary Wandering Demon. By improving the layout of your dungeon, you'll be able to lure in more exotic creatures, and fight them in real time using a variety of weapons, magics, and summoning creatures. You'll also be able to trade dungeons with a friend, when this game comes out in July.Brave Story: New Traveler is a new PSP-exclusive RPG from Game Republic (creators of Genji). You play as an eleven year old boy (pictured) whose life is changed forever when his friend Miki falls ill from a mysterious disease. He must enter the world of Vision to find the Goddess of Fortune to make his wishes come true. This RPG doesn't have a release date yet, but is expected to come out Q3.Check after the cut to see more pictures of Dungeon Maker in action.
