Despite (or perhaps because of) the similarities to an episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force from 2004, Penny Arcade's Gears of Conflict Resolution took top honors in this week's webcomic wrapup. We'd also like to take a moment to remind everyone of the 300 "PG" parody, since we still can't stop ourselves from shouting "This is Cake Town" at least once a day at random strangers.Second and third place go to Ctrl+Alt+Del's Moar Co-Op and Monday Night Crew's Street Dated. A special nod goes to mudron's debut in the wrapup. Thanks to everyone who voted; be sure to let us know of any game-related webcomics you stumble upon this week!

Some say they were picked by merit of being Penny Arcade. Still, we think this strip was rather poignant and quite deserving in its own right of this week's Webcomic Wrapup. We'd love to present a trophy, but we're not so good in the art department and Gabe doesn't return our emails. Maybe we have to beat him at WoW TCG to get his attention.Second and third place go to 2P Start and CAD, respectively. Thanks to everyone who voted, and be sure to let us know of any gaming comics you stumble upon this week! Well, actually ... since we have to get back on schedule, you've only got about 20 hours to get our attention.

  • Weekly Webcomic Wrapup: It's a Gamer's Life

We wanted to take this space to highlight Tim Buckley's seven-part It's a Gamer's Life comic. We were genuinely surprised by how touched we were, even if the text stuck to a very cliché A-B-C-B poetic format. It's a serious webcomic, but it's game-related. We wish more people out there would enjoy gaming comics that took a more serious tone, but they are few and far between and the few times we've thrown them into the wrapup polls, we've seen more than a few complaints about the lack of humor. Webcomics don't have to be funny to be poignant, but we digress. Start at the beginning and read through the seven-part strip. Here are our picks for the week's best game-related webcomics, be sure to vote for your favorite! (Polling after the break.) Solid Smash Bros. Sure, many argued that this wasn't the duo's strongest game-related comic of the week (most cited Rigorous Scholarship as the better choice), but Penny Arcade nonetheless took top honors in this week's webcomic wrapup for their Rez-inspired strip.Second places goes to Digital Unrest and third to Ctrl+Alt+Del. Thanks for your feedback on the new polling system, which is here to stay although adjustments will be happening (such as including the strip name in the choices to make an easier connection). Despite commenters' lamentations over the purported juvenile innuendo, readers en masse voted 2P Start's "Domestic Bliss" as the top webcomic for the week. If the art seems atypical for Ray and Tim's previous work this strip was drawn by Ray's friend Richard Aguirre.Second and third place go to Penny Arcade and Ctrl+Alt+Del, respectively. Tim Buckley has posted another trailer for Ctrl+Alt+Del's premium content. While the introductory cartoon is a bit too reminiscent of Clerks (great movie, but not for parody), what we found fascinating was the quick look into the process of making a strip for publication. From the initial sketchwork to his work with a Cintiq, none of this will probably interest those familiar with graphic design, but we get a kick out of behind-the-scenes glimpses like these. While we're on the subject, is it just us or does Tim Buckley bear kind of a resemblance to Elliott Smith? Also be sure to check out Scott Johnson's Diary of a Cartoonist, who has been showing off behind-the-scenes work since early March.See Also:Readers pick this week's best webcomic

Tim Buckley's Ctrl+Alt+Del comic strip has a pretty massive following. So it's an honor, really, that Tim gave us a little nod in his E3 recap comic. As many of you have pointed out, one of the guys standing in line for the Wii is wearing our new T-shirt.According to our calcultions, the distance from Los Angeles to the Utah border is approximately 380 miles. There are 5,280 feet in a mile, and the average person in line took up around 2-1/2 feet of breathing room, resulting in approximately 802,600 attendees* in front of us waiting in line for the Wii. So yeah, sorry Tim, we weren't going to let you in -- we had been waiting in line since Wyoming.[Thanks to everyone who tipped us off; image courtesy of The_Wind_Waker8](Update: Corrected spelling of Tim's name; although the paraprax "Time" could still be accurate ... sort of.)
