Capcom continues to push free games to our iPhones on the regular. An update for the Final Fight@Capcom Arcade (formerly Capcom Arcade) app adds two more games to the free-to-play lineup: Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts -- which is actually a SNES game -- and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo. As with all the other games in the app, players can use three "free play" tokens to access them, or buy virtual arcade machines for $3 a pop. And while the controls are usually an issue, the swipe-based controls in Puzzle Fighter are actually pretty good! Try it for yourself -- it's free, after all.

The free-to-play iOS Capcom Arcade app continues to improve in value. A new update adds two games to the virtual selection of classics: Final Fight and 1943. The app has also been given an attendant title change: "Capcom Arcade" is now "Final Fight@Capcom Arcade." In addition, the controls for the two Street Fighter games in the app have been tweaked. The app offers three "free play" tokens each day, for use on the two new games or the existing lineup of 1942, Commando, Ghosts 'n Goblins, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Street Fighter II and Street Fighter II Champion Edition. You can "buy" each "arcade machine" permanently for 99 cents.

The Capcom Arcade iPhone arcade app, containing emulated versions of Street Fighter II, Commando, Ghouls 'n Ghosts and 1942, launched today, offering a Game Room-style structure for its offerings. You can purchase "tokens" to play each of the games for $.99, or you can pay three bucks for unlimited access. That much was announced when the game was first revealed last month. However, what we didn't know at the time is that you get three free plays per day. Even if you don't feel like paying anything for the app, you can still play the games. Free seems like an okay price for touch-controlled arcade games.

Capcom's not looking to break its habit of scrunching down its popular franchises for use on the iPhone, it seems. Capcom Japan today outlined its mobile gaming plans for the near future -- plans which include the winter release of Dead Rising Mobile and "Capcom Arcade," a storefront which will host an expanding library of the developer's classic titles. Dead Rising Mobile will be a 3D action game in the vein of the series' console iterations with some form of Facebook and Twitter functionality. Capcom Arcade, much like the Xbox Live Game Room, will host a number of virtual arcade cabinets that require purchased "tokens" to play. Alternatively, permanent access to each game can be had for a larger, one-time fee. The Arcade service will launch before Dead Rising Mobile and will feature Street Fighter II, Ghouls'n Ghosts, 1942 and Commando. Finally, Capcom is also planning another update for the iPhone version of Street Fighter IV in mid-to-late November. The update will include a new challenger (following the last update's introduction of E. Honda and C. Viper), in addition to a handful of new networking options. We can't wait to see which brawler we can put our thumbs on next! That ... didn't sound good.
