Weta offers new Halo helmet replicas, earns even more ire from cats everywhere
Let's be honest, it's not like that replica Spartan helmet is going to sit on your desk, right? These things were made for cats, the inevitable conclusion of the unholy tryst between feline and fandom eventually available for all to see on flickr. It's just what people do and you can now expand the contents of your cat's chiffonier with three new quarter-scale helmets: CQB, EVA and the Mark VI. Each will set you back $60.
EB Canada: $59.99 Legendary Halo 3
Browsing through the neighborhood EB Games in Toronto we were stopped by a monolith of stacked Halo 3 Legendary editions in the middle of the store. While the boxes have seen better days, one thing we noticed was the price-point. Seems Wal-Mart isn't the only company attempting to unload an inventory of cat helmets. EB Games Canada has marked down each Halo 3 Legendary edition to $59.99 (CND) at all its retail locations. The manager told us the company was attempting to rid itself of the excess stock, which is probably taking up quite a section in their distribution center. If any Canadian readers were holding out on Halo 3, the announcement of new downloadable content and this price-point is a hard offer to pass up. At the time of this story EBGames.com lists the Legendary Edition for $79.99 (US) plus shipping. We quickly snapped a photo in the store and ninja'ed out before being discovered. We only escaped because, like you heard during Fancast 054, ninjas are so much better than pirates.
