Panasonic Chargepad wirelessly juices up mobile chargers, nothing else
We've seen plenty of wireless charging solutions that employ inductive power and other technologies to charge devices directly (heck, your next car may even have a Powermat in its console), but Panasonic's Chargepad may be the first such product to charge, well, other chargers, rather than gadgets themselves. At launch, the Chargepad will only be compatible with two models, the QE-PL101-W and QE-PL201-W, which you can use to juice up cell phones and other USB-compatible devices on the go. We'd love to see the company embedding inductive charging components in its cameras and other devices instead, but if you're an early adopter who happens to live in Japan, then you can expect to pay between $110-130 (open pricing, depending on battery capacity) for the Chargepad and a mobile charger when these hit stores on June 24. Update: As reader SegueToNowhere points out, the Chargepad has a Qi logo, meaning it should work with your favorite Qi devices.
Feds charge two in June 2010 iPad 3G hacking
Two men have been charged with stealing the email addresses and personal data of over 120,000 iPad users last year. A 26-year-old from San Francisco and a 25-year-old from Fayetteville, Arkansas were charged with hacking into AT&T's servers and stealing the data, scraped from AT&T's website. Both were charged with one count of identity fraud and one count of conspiracy to access a computer without authorization. They were caught in part due to IRC chat logs in which the hackers bragged about the theft and talked about trying to spin it as a statement against AT&T's lax security. Prosecutors are scheduled to give a press conference about the case today, so the trial should be underway before long.
Wireless charging comes to Apple's iPhone 3GS, thanks to WildCharge

Wii Warm Up: NMS excitement
Fresh from the Nintendo Media Summit, we've quite a few impressions of games coming out in the immediate future. Among them: Mario Party 8 Super Mario Strikers: Charged Big Brain Academy Pokemon Battle Revolution The Bigs Boogie My Word Coach Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2 We're most jazzed for Strikers, especially after reading such effulgent impressions from Penny Arcade. But which game shown at NMS excited you the most? If you were stuck on an island and could only have one game ... you know, assuming you had a Wii and a couple Wiimotes, and a nice TV ... maybe some nunchuks, oh, and the sensor bar, and I guess you'd need a standard 120 W outlet somewhere in the sand ... and a decent supply of food and water, or you wouldn't spend your time playing the Wii ... you know what, never mind.
Wii impressions from LGC
One of Moz La Punk's readers was on-hand at Leipzig with one mission: get their hands on as much Wii as possible. That's right, the reader craved Wii and did their best to make sure that the majority of their time at the show was spent within close proximity to it, holding the Wiimote and engaging in some gaming. They got their hands on a plethora of games at the show, including the two main titles for Nintendo: Battalion Wars 2 and Mario Strikers Charged. The reader's take on the demo for Elebits reads:"No one may have knew it, but this wás a new demo. Unlike the E3 demo, this time you could hunt Elebits in the garden next to the house. It also contained a new orange Elebit with wing-like ears, used for the little creature to fly. The developers also integrated a weight-limit, so not everything could be thrown around. Instead, every time something was shot, the weight was shown. Objects up to about 2 kilogramms could be lifted. The house also contained several electronical devices which could be opened by collecting enough Elebits to activate them. A dishwasher even contained differently coloured versions of the blue Elebit, as seen in the CG trailer with the Elebits dancing. The controls were simple, as A activated the beam, the Wiimote was used to aim and look around and the analogue stick moved the player character." Head on over here for the rest.[Via Go Nintendo]
