Breakfast Topic: What kind of class items do you want to see?
The addition of unique, cosmetic class items to the game is definitely an exciting step for character customization in World of Warcraft. Blizzard's told us, "We envision that class accessories will be rewarded from a variety of accomplishments in World of Warcraft. These could be as simple as attaining a new level, or as monumental as conquering a vicious raid boss. We want each player to have access to multiple accessories, but have some rarer accessories that take more effort to obtain." And that just leaves us with so many more questions -- the biggest of which is "what comes next?" This tiny preview just gives us a glimpse of what Blizzard is thinking of with this -- and since we've got nothing but time to speculate, let's talk! WoW is getting class accessories
The World of Warcraft will be getting cosmetic accessories to spice up their characters. These items will allow people to customize the looks of their characters to greater reflect the classes and play-styles that they choose. In the example that Blizzard gives, rogues could equip cosmetic daggers or vials of poisons -- they'd have no in-game effect other than to change the look of the character. And as we see from the picture above, librams and quivers (they're back from the dead) are also another example of cosmetic options. As with all new features, there's a lot of fine tuning, so don't read too much into everything yet. This new feature was announced in an Artcraft blog post that briefly appeared on Blizzard's French site, but has since vanished. We suspect that we'll see another version of it appear soon.
