Snapchat's first episode of MTV's 'Cribs' lands June 3rd
MTV is finally ready to debut its first Cribs episode for the new generation -- and, yes, it's broadcasting the show on Snapchat, just like it promised last year. The reimagined reality show will offer sneak peeks of celebrities' houses on Snapchat's Discover platform, where each episode will be live for 48 hours before vanishing. As much as we'd love to see Mariah get in a tub in front of a camera again, MTV will kick things off on June 3rd by featuring DJ Steve Aoki's Las Vegas home. The episode will show his rare collector's items, custom-made playroom and pool, which is the deepest in the city.
ICYMI: Airbag helmets might save your noggin

Airbag helmets (like these) are only sold in Europe but are far superior at keeping test heads safe in an impact.
Google employee creates the ultimate LAN party house, lives la vita local
You don't see many software engineers over on Cribs, but if you did, then Google employee Kenton Varda would probably be first in line. Some people buy fancy cars and hot tubs, Kenton created the ultimate LAN party room. Getting your crew round for a marathon Counter-Strike session might be a barrel, but tangled cables and weeding out connection problems are not, or at least Kenton clearly doesn't think so. No more cable spaghetti for him though, thanks to a permanent installation that includes machines, monitors, many feet of HDMI and USB leads, rack mounts and networking equipment for up to 12 gaming chums. Spread over two rooms, with six stations in each -- ideal for team games -- bespoke cabinets were made to keep it easy on the eye. Anyone wanting to take on a similar project can expect to put a $40,000 dent in their wallet, or a little more, depending on the size of your LAN.
Luxurite's custom 82-inch Glass TV is just the thing for your episode of Teen Cribs
Sure it's the kind of distinction that only matters in some celeb's rented-for-the-day mansion, but Luxurite is proudly claiming to be the first company offering anything as big as its 82-inch Glass TV (42-inch pictured). So named because its glass panel front flicks from see through (for more convenient TV watching) to a mirror when it's turned off, listed specs show a 1080p resolution, 120,000:1 contrast ratio (yeah, right) and 3 HDMI inputs. Price? Don't even ask. Well-heeled UK customers looking to spice up their bathroom, wet bar or other areas can get details on how to place a custom order beyond the read link.
The one and only MTV show that needs to be HD
You need to no something before you read anymore: I have never seen MTVs new high-def station, MHD. Truthfully, I have no desire to. MTV used to be a great station, but two things happened. One, the station started moving away from its roots and became a cultural station instead of a music station. And two, I grew up. There is still one show that I love to watch though and that is Cribs.I don't know what exactly I like about the show. But I think it has something to do with the program giving us a glimpse on how the other half lives. Sometimes it is funny to count how many cheap plasmas the rappers have but yet they are so proud of their flat screens. Side note: most impressive HDTV was Brad and Jens 40-inch Sony XBR sunk in the wall of their kitchen. This type show is just meant for high-def. Imagine seeing everything from Nelly's fish to Hugh's little bunny's, all in beautiful HDTV.
