The creepy-looking Pokémon Deoxys will be available in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 starting May 8, through a special character distribution online. If you're still playing the trading card game, it's also being released for that in a new "Plasma Freeze" expansion. Are people still playing the TCG?When Deoxys was first introduced back in 2005, it was revealed as part of a cross-promotion between Pokémon and NASA designed to help teach kids about DNA. Perhaps you didn't realize, when you woke up this morning, that you lived in a world where NASA and Pokémon had collaborated.

What's the best way to celebrate the first day of summer? If you said "Trek down to my local Gamestop and claim an exclusive Pokemon," you're either screwing with us or of a very certain persuasion. If you're among the first group, go eat a biggun, we're just trying to do a job here. If you're among the second, then we've got great news for you! Visitors to Gamestop stores between June 20 and 22 who bring in their DSs and copies of Pokemon Diamond or Pearl will be able to attain Deoxys, an exclusive "legendary character with transformative powers and an impressive set of battle-ready moves." The critter will also be able from the 27-29 of June, though if there's an event that can take you from the sort of person who wouldn't go to Gamestop to get an exclusive Pokemon to the sort of person that would in the span of a week, we don't know about it.

[Update: fixed dates!]Deoxi? Deoxes? However you want to pluralize it, Gamestop is offering downloads of that Pokémon in stores from the 20th to the 22nd and again from the 27th to the 29th. Deoxys is a Psychic-type Pokémon who has four different forms. If you're still playing Pokémon Diamond and/or Pearl, or if you have an overwhelming obsession with the catching of them all, bring your DS and game down to the store and be prepared to be hassled about preorders of games you don't want.A few years back, NASA used Deoxys to help teach related science concepts like DNA to youngsters. And now GameStop's using Deoxys to help get youngsters inside GameStop!
