Hey, remember Game Room? Despite ongoing troubles at Krome, the studio continues to add emulated arcade, Intellivision and Atari 2600 titles to Xbox Live's retro download service -- and the latest update is actually pretty awesome. Game Pack 012 has launched with the arcade versions of Blades of Steel and Trick Trap 1771, plus the Atari 2600's Pitfall 2 and the Intellivision's Vectron. And there are still 11 titles to come from the pack! GamerBytes reports that "Game Room hackers" have discovered the identities of the rest of Game Pack 012's pending releases, and they're even more awesome than the launch titles, including Konami's cute-em-ups Twinbee and Detana!! Twinbee, the run-and-gun Western Sunset Riders and the four-player Atari classic Warlords. See the full (rumored) list after the break. [Image source: The Arcade Flyer Archive]

The latest Hanabi Festival on the European Wii Shop is ending in just about the most aww-inducing, candy-colored way possible: with Kirby's Dream Land 3 and Detana!! Twinbee. These two cute classics are joined by a WiiWare game called ColorZ, which features a color-shifting mechanic similar to Treasure's Ikaruga in a sort of maze-navigating game. Also on WiiWare this week: Heracles Chariot Racing. And on DSiWare, A Little Bit of ... Brain Training Sudoku, which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. Detana!! Twinbee (Turbografx, 1-2 players, 700 Wii Points) Kirby's Dream Land 3 (Super NES, 900 Wii Points) ColorZ (WiiWare, 1-3 players, 700 Wii Points) Heracles Chariot Racing (WiiWare, 1-4 players, 800 Wii Points) A Little Bit of ... Dr Kawashima's Brain Training Sudoku (DSiWare, 1 player, 500 DSi Points)

Well, this is a surprise: A week with two Virtual Console releases. And all from Hudson? We guess Nintendo liked that fruitcake from last year's Virtual Console participant party. As usual, feel free to watch this week's releases in motion above or, if you're more for images of the motionless variety, head past the break. Or ... do both. Go ahead, go mad with power.

It's Monday, which means it's time to check out what the Wii has available for download. As we already reported, 2 new Virtual Console imports will be arriving today, but there's also one WiiWare game joining them. Unless you like Hudson games, you probably won't be interested in 100% of this week's offerings:WiiWarePop 'Em Drop 'Em SameGame (Hudson, 1 - 4 players, 500 Wii Points): As with most puzzle games, the object is to clear pieces from a game grid. Match two or more pieces of the same color to eliminate them from the board and score points. The game features multiple modes of play and support for up to four players via local multiplayer.Virtual ConsoleBomberman '94 (Hudson, TurboGrafx16, 1 - 5 players, 700 Wii Points): Featuring 9 different members of the Bomberman family to play as, Bomberman '94 is business as usual for the gang as they drop bombs, blow up blocks, and even ride on 5 different types of Rooi, each with their own special abilities. Don't ask us why their eggs are inside blocks, though. We don't have all the answers.Detana Twin Bee (Hudson, TurboGrafx16, 1 - 2 players, 700 Wii Points): Hudson's vertical shooter stars Twinbee and Winbee, who must stop a force of alien invaders (obviously). The game has a single-player mode, as well as two-player co-op, and even though it's yet another shmup on the Virtual Console, we're still interested in this cute release that was once confined to Japan.%Gallery-42363%

  • Imports on VC this Monday: Bomberman '94, Detana!! Twinbee

After five months of total inactivity, during which time it focused on WiiWare, Hudson is returning to the Virtual Console this Monday. Just like the last set of TurboGrafx-16 games so long ago, the two games announced for next week are imports! This means, at the very least, that Hudson has not abandoned the Virtual Console. You may be familiar with Bomberman '94 as the Genesis/Mega Drive Mega Bomberman. The original PC Engine version was only released in Japan. This one features kangaroos that Bomberman can ride (who can also take an explosion for him). Detana!! Twinbee is an absolutely beautiful vertical-scrolling cute-em-up from Konami, in a series rarely seen in North America. Being imports, both games will cost 700 Wii Points. And being Hudson Virtual Console games, we can't be sure they'll actually show up on time.[Via VC Reviews]
