Samsung is certainly not hurting for point-and-shoot digital cameras but the company is beefing up its lineup anyway, slipping the Digimax D103 out the door without too much fanfare. This one's apparently exclusive to the U.K. for now, boasting an increasingly common 10 megapixels, along with a 3x optical zoom, and a 2.5-inch LCD on the camera's backside (check out a shot of it after the break). The D103 will also let you take full VGA MPEG-3 video at 30 fps, and will give you ISO settings all the way up to ISO 1000. No word on price, but it appears that it's available now.[Via Photography Blog]

After their last round of completely out of left field NV-series cameras, we were kind of hoping Samsung wouldn't again resort to their well-specced but below average line of Digimax cameras, but here we have it. Samsung's new seven megapixel S700 and ten megapixel S1000 get the job done with 2.4-inch LCDs, 3x optical zoom, 16MB internal memory, and in the case of the S1000 MPEG-4 VGA video recording. (Wait, didn't they already announce the S1000?) Expect them in august for $250 and $350, respectively. Just in case, need that link to the NVs again?

DigiCamReview got a chance to play with Samsung's Digimax i6 digital camera, which you may recall was touted by the company earlier this year as "the world's first PMP slim camera," and even promised to deliver "big-screen performance - in the palm of your hand!" While Samsung may have gone overboard in the hype department, DigiCamReview nevertheless found the Digimax i6 to be a very solid camera, with good image quality, a great 2.5-inch screen, 3x optical zoom, and a nice and sturdy design. And the PMP functions, while obviously not living up to Samsung's hyperbole, proved to be a welcome addition. They also found the price to be very reasonable, at just £179 (about $330US).

We have yet to see quite how well Samsung's Digimax i6 compact shooter will hold up to PMP duties, but Samsung is billing it as the "world's first PMP slim camera," so hopefully it does something right. The 6 megapixel i6 is now available in Europe for £200, while US pre-orders are available at a reasonable $300. Along with your average camera features like a 2.5-inch LCD and a 3x optical zoom, the i6 includes a mini headphone jack for enjoying MP3 files, along with video playback capability for XviD files made using an included converter. Not exactly groundbreaking, but we can't fault this sexy, 0.7-inch thick shooter for trying.[Via SamsungHQ]
