[NOTE: VIDEO DEFINITELY NSFW!] Known for his withering opinions on popular titles, a gamer in Australia known as Yahtzee releases a new episode of his video reviews via The Escapist every Wednesday. Known as "Zero Punctuation" due to the lack of natural pauses and breathing, Yahtzee takes on games for the purpose of humor and sarcasm. This week his victim is Devil May Cry 4 and boy, does he make it weep. Touching on everything from anime conventions to unentertaining cinematics to the nature of the main characters and plot. Despite giving the game its due for fun and stylish combat, he finds a ridiculous amount of stuff that detracts from it (for him and his review anyway) and really takes the game to task for its retracing of steps and short length. As always, the humor is the highlight and if you disagree with his opinions, best to simply find what you can to be funny and move on. As a final parting note we leave you with this: Old Meat. Wasp+Spider+Slipknot+Gummy Bears.

  • DMC4 for Xbox 360 outsells PS3 in UK

It's been said that the most important thing in this generation of hardware is exclusive software that helps differentiate one console from another. While Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony have had their share of exclusive third-party titles (of varying quality) the most talked about issues stem from titles going multiplatform. Such was the case for Devil May Cry 4, which when announced for the Xbox 360 and PC sent Sony loyalists into a maddening spiral of rage. The incentive for publishers to distribute once exclusive titles across multiple platforms opens the flood gates of potential profits (Read: monies) and that excuse seems to be paying off for Capcom.According to a report from Gamesindustry.biz the initial sales figures of DMC4 favor the Xbox 360 version in the UK claiming 61% of the title's total software launch sales while Sony and the PC share the claims the remaining 39%. While we think it's great to have quality releases from Capcom in this generation for the Xbox we doubt anything they do can ever make up for Dino Crisis 3.Update: Whoops, the PC version hasn't been released.

The only thing better than a trickle of solid game releases after the holiday season is getting one of those games on-the-free. TheManRoom is offering one lucky reader a chance to win a copy of Devil May Cry 4 for the Xbox 360 or the PS3. Residents of the United States and Canada are invited to enter the contest once per day until the draw closes on February 22 at 9:59pm PST. We recommend the Xbox 360 version, only because we tend to play games as soon as we insert them into our consoles and not when we're planning to take a long hot bubble bath while it installs. But hey, that's just us!

Sony certainly knows when to take advantage of a game that Japan loves. They did it with Minna no Golf 5 and Bladestorm and now Devil May Cry 4 looks set to receive the same treatment. The game will be bundled with both white and black 40GB PS3s and will also come with an extra Blu-Ray of bonus content.Due out on the 31st of January, alongside the game, the bundle will retail for 47,800 yen. That's around 212 GBP, 294 Euros or 422 USD by today's standards. Not a bad deal at all. Since the price drop sales in Japan have been increasing nicely and, hopefully, this bundle will only improve the situation.

Capcom has released the first gameplay footage of Dante from Devil May Cry 4. If you don't know, the protagonist featured so far is in fact Nero, though he bears a striking resemblance to Dante. Among other things, Dante has duel-wielded pistols, which are so popular with the kids these days. The clip is very short, but it does showcase some pretty nifty maneuvers for Dante. We like the upside down, spiraling double guns in particular. Check out the video and a new gallery after the break.

  • DMC4 on 360 and PS3: identical

Speaking to IGN in a video interview, Devil May Cry 4 producer, Hiroyuki Kobayashi, dropped some interesting info. Firstly, he describes the game's lead character, Nero, and his weapons -- a big sword called the Red Queen and a revolver called the Blue Rose. That's all well and good, but the real sound bite concerns the game's multiplatform status. Regarding the disparities between the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Devil May Cry 4, Kobayashi says, "Our plan is to make them pretty much identical."In the unending flame war of console superiority, this is quite a statement. Kobayashi notes that there may be some functionality in the PS3 version not included in the 360 version. The statement is poorly translated though, so we're not exactly sure what that functionality will be (motion control, perhaps?). At any rate, the upshot is this: if you have to play Devil May Cry 4, you might as well do it for $200 less, because you won't be missing anything on the Xbox 360.[Via Joystiq]
