What better way to express your love for EVE Online than with EVE-branded clothing? OK, well, a tattoo might beat that, but you'll have less regret with a Concord Ops jacket. CCP has announced today that its EVE store has reopened, allowing fans of the popular space MMO to buy starmap-adorned t-shirts and Guristas jackets to their hearts' content. In addition to what's currently available on the store, CCP plans to announce all new products (an expansion pack for the store, if you will) at this weekend's Fanfest. Speaking of Fanfest, you can follow our coverage of the Icelandic party event all weekend.

Are you the sort of discerning individual who needs to make it clear when not playing EVE Online that you are still a fan of EVE Online? Do you display this with your personal apparel by sporting shirts and hoodies from the EVE Online store? If so, you'll want to stock up on any new items you need before the end of the month, as CCP Games has announced that the store will be closing temporarily as of October 31st. The current plan is for the store to open in a revamped capacity in 2013. Of course, there's a lot of stock still sitting in the warehouse, so the store has seen massive price reductions on all current items with discounts of up to 50%. Supplies are limited, so if you're the sort of discerning individual we mentioned in the introductory line, you may wish to head over early to avoid the rush.

EVE Online is one of the few MMOs with its own dedicated paper-based magazine. With its high production values, the quarterly E-ON Magazine by MMM Publishing is a great example of how to do a game magazine right. Each issue contains featured articles, guides, fiction, interviews, sneak peeks at future expansions and more. Even the advertisements in it are for exclusively in-game corporations and services, making it pure EVE from cover to cover. Here at Massively, we've reviewed the past three issues of the magazine and found them all to be well worth reading. If you'd like to give E-ON Magazine a go or fill in some holes in your collection, now's the perfect time to do it. All this month, issues of E-ON are better than half price at the EVE Online store. Each issue is reduced from $14.95 US down to only $7 if you apply the code EONDEC1050 to your purchase, making the magazine a great Christmas gift for any big EVE Online fan. If you're a big fan of the magazine, you'll also be pleased to know that last month's contest has been extended until EVE's daily downtime tomorrow. To be in with a chance to win, just mail win@mmmpublishing.com with your name, your EVE character name and an explanation of why you think you deserve free swag. The best entry will win a pile of EVE goodies, with winners to be announced in E-ON issue 22. Enter quickly, as the contest ends tomorrow at 11AM GMT.

  • EVE Online contest asks how CCP could make the game more appealing to female gamers

In co-operation with CCP Games, our friends at CrazyKinux's Musing are running an interesting contest. In the latest edition of CrazyKinux's monthly EVE Blog Banter, he's asking players to write blog posts on ideas to make EVE Online more appealing to female gamers. The best ideas will win EVE store credit, with a total of $200 up for grabs. First place will receive $75 worth of store credit to spend on EVE merchandise and second place wins $50 of credit. The next three runner-up entries will win $25 of credit each, giving everyone a total of five chances to win. Entrants have until Monday April 26th to make their thoughts on the issue known. EVE Online is something of an oddity in the MMO scene, with an almost entirely male playerbase. While some MMOs have a roughly 40% female playerbase and others are closer to 16%, less than 5% of EVE Online players are female. With Incarna set to introduce more avenues for social gaming, now might be a good time to start finding out what barriers prevent girls from signing up to EVE. Whatever the reason for EVE's 95% male-dominated playerbase, CCP seem interested in balancing that figure by drawing in more female gamers. If you have an idea that you think would help, enter it in the EVE Blog Banter for a chance to win some EVE swag.
