We give the big studios a hard time about revealing their games inexcusably early, but indies can be just as bad. Take Feist for instance. We were intrigued by the first video for the dark PC and Mac platformer in September of 2008, just before the game promptly disappeared for 19 months or so, only to return ... with another trailer? See if you can catch a glimpse after the break (courtesy of Game Informer) before it submerges again. Sure, you could argue that most independent developers have a much harder row to hoe than the big guys or that their development schedules can be much more easily thrown off by outside influence. But where does that get our need for instant gratification? Nowhere, that's where.

Oh man! Hey it's your boy, Soulja Boy Tell 'Em, and they got this game, right, for people who smoke, or people who drink -- like if you drink beer and you get drunk, or if you smoke weed and you get high -- and you just, anything, like, if you just be gettin' *bleep'd* up. They got this game, right, I don't know, this *bleep* called FEIST -- hold up! Watch this *bleep*. [Please press play on video player above.]It's about this little guy in a black suit, and he walk around -- they ain't got no point to the game -- you just walk around jumpin' on *bleep*. It look like Mario in a *bleep'd* up dream. It's Mario as a fuzzy ball wit' lil stick arms and legs. And he just walk around jumpin' and *bleep* -- but what's the funny part about it ... it's Mac exclusive![Download the free beta from the link on IndieGames.com.]

I can't say MADtv is my favorite sketch show, and personally I really liked the Feist iPod ads, but in terms of skewering the downsides of being an iPod user, they pretty much hit the nail on the head on this one.If you listen to our talkcast, you'll already know that Apple makes their product release decisions based around my own personal experience -- every time I buy an Apple product, Steve stands up and releases something even newer and cooler soon after. Of course, as the parody says, if you want to own something that doesn't ever get better after you buy it, there is always an alternative.[Via Macenstein]

Here's the ad for the new iPod Nano, (also available in QuickTime on Apple.com) which I still think doesn't look that great (the Nano, not the ad). I mean yeah, it's super cute and tiny, and it is extremely awesome to have a screen like that (with its 204ppi) playing video on a Nano. But it's just so... stubby and squished.Still, Apple makes up for it by using the best song off of Feist's latest album, and the video that goes with it. Not quite as iconic (or out-there) as Orba Squara, but it is a great tune.
