Nintendo's carrier pigeon just landed on our windowsill with a complete list of Wii releases for Q1 2009. We do actually know most of these dates already (so yeah, maybe the mushroom cloud is a bit excessive), but there's still the occasional scrap of new news buried within. Those Tenchu and Little King's Story dates are fresh to us, and there's also confirmation of the first Play on Wii "New Play Control" games, Pikmin and Mario Power Tennis. For the record, "New Play Control" is a bit of a rubbish name for the series. In our humble opinion, obviously.Make the jump for the full line-up, and remember you can click on a game's name to bring up screens (where available)!%Gallery-22964%

At first, we weren't even sure if this was a new trailer for Fishing Master: World Tour. The first ten seconds or so are completely identical to the previous trailer in every way, from the music to the shot of the spinning globe on the captain's desk. But unlike the previous trailer, which briefly showed off the game's locations, this one demonstrates gameplay, with controller diagrams and in-game footage. And man, does it make fishing look exciting. All the flashy screen effects, anime-style character portraits popping up, and combo displays make Fishing Master look more like a fighting game than the normal waiting game. That kid totally performed a Super Combo on that boss.%Gallery-37518%[Via press release]

If Animal Crossing: City Folk has whetted your appetite for motion-based fishing, Hudson would like to remind you that they have, like, a whole game coming out about just that. A second one, in fact! Fishing Master: World Tour has a bit more in-depth fishing, as you would expect, and interesting backdrops to stare at while you're failing to catch anything. There's a longer trailer over at the official website, as well as video footage featuring each of the game's fishing venues. Keep practicing catching sea bass in Animal Crossing (or the first Fishing Master, we guess), and maybe you'll be able to hit the leaderboards when World Tour.%Gallery-37518%

This week, Hudson Soft announced two new games for North American Wiis, both with distinctly aquatic themes, though viewed from fairly different perspectives. The Fishing Master sequel, Mezase!! Tsuri Master Sekai ni Challenge!, is coming out this winter in Q1 2009 under the title Fishing Master World Tour. The controls have been made a bit more representative than in the previous title (there's less holding of buttons and more just motion), and the backdrops now include exotic locations around the world. Like one might see on a tour of the world. It's also got boss battles and leaderboards. I played it briefly at E3 and found it pretty easy to operate (but really hard to successfully entice a fish in).The other nautical game takes place underwater, and in much smaller bodies of water. The WiiWare aquarium thing Blue Oasis will be released at an undetermined time under the title My Aquarium. The official North American website launched this week.[Update: the release date for Fishing Master was apparently in error.]
