Choose the adventures of the WoW Insider staff or join in with It came from the Blog on Zangarmarsh (US-PVE-H). Joining Roblinator for future adventures in these pages will be Josh Myers, Joe Perez and Fox Van Allen. Yes, it's the return of Foxlight, the shirtless pally. Please keep the swooning to a minimum. Josh and Joe will be having you choose everything about their characters, but Foxlight just needs to know how and where to adventure. Roblinator will continue her shamanating ways, with your help and direction. We'll be discontinuing the stream, but not the fun! We will be posting the schedules for each adventurer so that you can join them on their travels, and of course we will have polls and stories. Join us after the break to vote on what you'd like for our new adventurers.

  • WRUP: Foxlight and the fiercest mount, like, ever

    06.04.2011

Every week, just at the start of the weekend, we catch up with the WoW Insider staff and ask them, "What are you playing this week?" -- otherwise known as: WRUP. Join us to see what we're up to in and out of game, and catch us in the comments to let us know what you're playing, too! Hello again. Foxlight here. If you don't know me, let me explain -- yours truly is accustomed to stretch limos. Orc chauffeurs. Throngs of worshippers. Glittery ponies. Fabulous accommodations. The best. Which is why it was so hard on me when my dad cut off my credit card last month. "Frivolous purchases." As if! I needed that 8,000 gold worth of gloves and boots -- do you know how cutthroat the blood elf fashion scene is? And really, 8,000 gold is a bargain when you think about it. It'd have been way more if I'd bought shirts, too. In fact, when you think about it, I did him a favor! Ugh! Anyhow. I'd been lowered to having to take ... public transportation. It's the worst ever. I mean, I'm not a racist, but ... goblins take public transportation. They smell weird. Like, greasy. I'm not a racist, though. I have a goblin friend. Just saying. Okay, focus, Foxlight, back on topic. I needed a much more fierce mode of transportation. So I picked up the Silvermoon Pennypincher and found an ad for a barely used flying lion mount. He doesn't have sparkles, but he's still pretty fierce. And man, is he ever flaming. He was pretty expensive, too, but I sold my paladin-ing services in the back rooms of Ragefire Chasm to save up some money. Dirty work, but a blood elf boy's gotta do what a blood elf boy's gotta do. Took me a few weeks, but I put together enough gold to buy that stunning beast. I must say, he was even more beautiful once I put a collar on him and made him mine. Gotta admit, at first I was worried that I'd have trouble riding him because he was so big. But I just had to relax and there was no problem. He's so gorgeous, oh my God. I rode him until the sun came up over Murder Row. The only problem, though, is that everyone in Silvermoon is now riding one. Foxlight sets the trend, and then all these followers just jump on. So anyway, not that I even really care, but what are you doing this weekend? (Maybe we should brunch?) And, oh yeah: "Gigantic winged lion. Did you get it? Why or why not?"

  • Cataclysm: Gamon, legendary villain of Orgrimmar, made even more elite

    by
    Fox Van Allen
    Fox Van Allen
    11.12.2010

I am Foxlight, legendary hero of the masses. This is Orgrimmar. My city. I must be out there in the night, staying vigilant. Wherever the darkness stirs, I will be there. Wherever an inn is threatened, I will be there. Wherever a rogue needs to finish a quest, I will be there. Lurking. Watching. For at any moment, I know the foul villain Gamon may return to threaten my people. Years ago, Gamon posed no threat -- a simple two-bit crook; a level 12 drunkard. Gamon bided his time in the Valley of Strength's inn (specifically, dead on the inn's floor). Many ignored him. But those of us, those of us with a sixth sense ... we knew that he needed to be stopped before it was too late. They laughed at me. Called me a fool. Stopped me from doing what must be done. And so, sinister Gamon obtained the legendary Tazan's Key. And before they could stop him, dark, foul Gamon unlocked the secrets of Tazan's Satchel, accessing the dark magicks inside. The once quiet Gamon is now ... a level 85 elite. And despite his quiet manner, he threatens the very safety of not just low-level rogues trying to finish a quest, but the entire world. A cunning villain, he still resists the urge to attack unless he is attacked first. But even so, his kill count is rising. He must be stopped. I don't eat. I don't sleep. I keep watch over the Valley of Strength's inn, making sure Gamon stays dead on the inn's floor. The needs of the world outweigh the needs of the level 10 rogue trying to complete a quest. I am Foxlight. And Gamon ... I will destroy you. Over and over again, every five minutes, until you stop respawning. World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will destroy Azeroth as we know it; nothing will be the same! In WoW Insider's Guide to Cataclysm, you can find out everything you need to know about WoW's third expansion (available Dec. 7, 2010), from brand new races to revamped quests and zones. Choose the adventures of the WoW.com staff as we level our characters in <It came from the Blog> on Zangarmarsh (US-PvE-H). I'm so sorry I never had the stream last week as promised. I got sick, then The Spawn got sick and we had to go visit Great Grandpa who was sick. Boo! (The Spawn and I are fully recovered and Great Grandpa is well cared for.) You may have also noticed we didn't have our usual polls on Friday. That's because we are going to have them on Wednesdays from now on. Our adventures will be recapped on Mondays, which begins today with the return of Foxlight and Patent after the break. Ch-ch-ch-changes! But first, the schedule: Schedule Adam Holisky as Adammentat, the level 62 tauren druid, will play on Monday at 10 p.m. EDT. Robin Torres as Robinemia, the Forsaken huntress: Wednesday, 11 p.m. EDT. Note: This will be streamed. Amy Schley as Patent, the level 29 troll rogue: Thursday, 10 p.m. EDT Anne Stickney as Annephora, the level 42 troll warrior, will play on Saturday at 1 a.m. EDT (which is Friday at 11 p.m. Zangarmarsh time). Adventurers who play when they can Fox Van Allen as Foxlight, the level 25 blood elf paladin Lisa Poisso as Prupher, the level 11 tauren druid Michael Sacco as Shockbroker, the goblin shaman Christian Belt, as Selfloathius, the level 16 blood elf warlock Robin Torres, as Robinemia, the level 29 Forsaken mage Matthew Rossi as Andrenorton, the level 17 troll mage Michael Gray as Grayfields, the level 17 tauren hunter Gregg Reece as Sandwichdoc, the level 16 troll shaman

He has now gone to the great kitty playland in the sky, where he can chase lizards and eat tuna forever. And now that I've completely bummed you out, here is the rest of this week's schedule: Anne Stickney as Annephora, the level 41 troll warrior, will be on Friday at 1 a.m. EDT (which is Thursday at 11 p.m. Zangarmarsh time) Fox Van Allen as Foxlight, the level 22 blood elf paladin: Friday, 8 p.m. EDT Michael Sacco as Sahko, the orc warlock; Christian Belt, as Selfloathius, the level 15 blood elf warlock; Elizabeth Harper as Faience, the level 24 troll shaman; Matthew Rossi as Andrenorton, the level 17 troll mage; Michael Gray as Grayfields, the level 17 tauren hunter; and Gregg Reece as Sandwichdoc, the level 13 troll shaman, will be making appearances as they can. Choose the adventures of the WoW.com staff as we level our characters in <It came from the Blog> on US Zangarmarsh-H. Foxlight is now even more aptly named, now that you have chosen holy for his talent tree. You also voted for jewelcrafting/mining, so he will be making pretty, sparkly things. But, while most of you find Fox Van Allen's shirtless pally fabulous, you're really here to vote on the class and race of WoW.com's prom queen, Christian Belt. You'll also get to vote on the questing zone for next week, if you so choose. But first, the schedule: Matthew Rossi as Andrenorton, his new troll mage: Some time Saturday Fox Van Allen as Foxlight, the blood elf paladin: Saturday, 8 p.m. EDT Amy Schley as Patent, the troll rogue, Adam Holisky as Adammentat, the tauren druid, and Gregg Reece, the orc warlock, will be making appearances as they can.
