  • Cataclysm Zone Review: Dun Morogh

This article has been brought to you by Seed, the Aol guest writer program that brings your words to WoW Insider's pages. Editor's Note: This post contains spoilers for the upcoming Cataclysm expansion. Read at your own risk! The upheaval in the snowy lands of Dun Morogh has been more political than geological, but there's quite a fair amount of new material for those rolling a brand new dwarf or gnome in Cataclysm. Starting Zones Coldridge Valley and New Tinkertown The dwarven starting zone hasn't changed much physically, but the troggs are more aggressive now, so there's no time for placid mail delivery quests. But there's always time for beer! Eventually, you kill a troublemaking fire elemental that seems to quell the threat here, but an untimely cave-in forces you to forego the tunnel and take an airlift to Kharanos instead. (Alas, this detour bodes ill for the popularity of the famous Dwarven Demolition Team.)

  • Death Knight gets Thunderfury

Here's a world first I never thought I'd see via Deathknight.info: The first Death Knight with a Thunderfury! Night Elf Death Knight Dragoth of Frostmane-EU grabbed the legendary sword a couple weeks back, and has the achievement to prove it (It's under the Feats of Strength category). Certainly, this was no small task in and of itself. Sure, you can probably do most of the questline with four or five people now, but you'll still find yourself in Molten Core begging for the bindings to drop for at least a few weeks, and that doesn't even count the elementium.

  • Reader Halloween costumes 2008

Readers have already started sending in a few costumes for Halloween this year -- if you're dressing up as something from the World of Warcraft, don't forget to take a picture and send it through our tipline. Reader Taytayflann of Frostmane assembled this great Bloodfang costume from a Horde hoodie that he bought -- the shoulders, which took the longest to make, he says, are made out of shin pads, cardboard, wire, red and black cloth, and staples. They turned out really well, and even though it was probably tough putting them together, it was probably still easier and faster than traipsing around Blackwing Lair with 40 people trying to get the virtual set. There are only a few pictures in the gallery below, but we'll be adding in your entries from the tipline throughout the weekend (both of real-life and ingame costumes), so check back to see more. And don't forget to have a safe and happy Halloween tonight from all of us here at WoW Insider.%Gallery-35811%

  • Maintenance for June 17th will be short

Here's a heads-up to all our North American night owls early risers and Oceanic readers: It's Tuesday morning, and that means maintenance. Luckily, it's a short one today. Bornakk has said that they expect most servers to only be down a half hour, starting at 5AM PDT and ending a 5:30AM PDT. There are some extra servers that will be down slightly longer, until 6:30AM PDT. Those servers will be listed after the break. Aussies can rejoice as well, as any Oceanic servers not on this list won't be taken down until 5AM AEST (Which is noon over here on the American west coast). For the list of servers that will have a longer downtime, read on:

The European free character migrations on some PvP servers continue, since apparently they haven't had quite the intended effect yet. Thundgot says:Due to population differences between some of the highest and lowest populated PvP realms, the following Free Character Migration will be available November 7th to 13th:From: Crushridge, Frostmane, Grim Batol, Kazzak, OutlandTo: Boulderfist, Daggerspine, Vek'nilashPlease note that the migration may be closed at any time should a destination realm's population rise too high. This is the same source realms as before, and one of the same destination realms (Boulderfist). It looks like not too many people chose to take advantage of this move last time. So get moving, people!Oh, and to answer a question that was asked in another thread: Europe will be getting patch 2.3 on November 14th, a week from today (source).

Wow, we haven't had one of these for a while. Starting yesterday (oops), players on a few high-population European PvP servers will be able to transfer to some of the lower-pop ones for free:Due to population differences between some of the highest and lowest populated PvP realms, the following Free Character Migration will be available from October 24th to 30th:From: Crushridge, Frostmane, Grim Batol, Kazzak, OutlandTo: Boulderfist, Jaedenar, Kor'gallPlease note that the migration may be closed at any time should a destination realm's population rise too high. (Thundgot)Edit: Apparently the following additional EU migrations are also active until the 30th:From: Zul'JinTo: Uldum, Tyrande[Thanks, Rauten]As the post says, you should take advantage of this ASAP if you want to move, because they do occasionally close these early. Are you on any of these servers? If you're on the "from" realms, do you agree that overpopulation is a problem, and if so, are you going to move? If you're on the "to" realms, do you think your realm needs more players?
