If Funcom were a recruiting agency for a real-world secret society, it might be the most successful one of all time. The studio announced that it's topped all of its previous MMO beta records, as it has roped in 1.3 million registered testers for The Secret World. Funcom CEO Trond Arne Aas says this could be the start of something big: "We are very encouraged by both the numbers of beta registrations and the positive feedback we are getting from our testers. The fact that so many gamers want to play The Secret World combined with the high purchase intent among testers is something we consider a very positive indicator." This news comes right before The Secret World's third beta weekend. Funcom also announced that the title has gone gold and is on track for June 29th's early access and July 3rd's launch.

2D Boy's stick 'em and stack 'em puzzle game is finally complete, with the PC version being sent off to be duplicated and transferred to thousands of distractingly shiny discs. You can expect to see World of Goo slouching happily on a retail shelf during the first week of November, according to the indie developer's blog. You might as well pick it up while you're in the game shop -- we know you're going to be in there for the next three months. With the Goo'd news out of the way, it's time to deliver the almost good news. Folks looking forward to the Wiiware version of World of Goo need hold out for only a bit longer. "We're putting the final touches on the Wiiware version," says 2D Boy, which hopes "to submit it to Nintendo for approval this month." Judging by the recent releases on the service, we doubt that'll pose much of an obstacle.%Gallery-20573%

It looks like the long wait is almost over! Electronic Arts and Mythic Entertainment have announced that Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning has gone gold. This means, essentially, that the game is ready to be sent to store shelves. Discs are being printed to go into boxes to be delivered into the waiting hands of anxious WAR fanatics. The press release for the announcement reminds us that the title will be launching on September 18th, with a retail price of $49.99. The collector's edition, of course, will see players in the game servers even earlier than that.Said prolific Mythic CEO Mark Jacobs, "We've done our best to create the next great MMORPG experience, but it's the fans that will bring our world to life ... The Day of Reckoning approaches and it's going to be glorious! It's time to go to WAR." The game is set to launch in North America, Europe, and Oceania on the same day, meaning that all across the world we'll be readying for WAR together. Nothing left to do now but wait for the servers to reopen on the 7th. WAAUGH!
