What’s coming to Netflix in February: ‘Patriot Act' and 'Jaws’
February is right around the corner, which means we'll all be spending a lot of time inside. It is the coldest month of the year, after all. So why not stave off cabin fever with Netflix's incoming lineup of originals and licensed classics? The streaming platform is bringing back comedian Hasan Minhaj's weekly show Patriot Act for another run, and you'll be able to catch new episodes every Sunday starting February 10th. Netflix is also debuting the first run of its new series Russian Doll, in which a woman gets caught in a Groundhog Day-like loop that forces her to relive her 36th birthday party over and over again. It drops February 1st.
Netflix pulls Hasan Minhaj episode critical of Saudi Arabia government
Netflix rarely finds itself thrust into political debates like other internet giants, but it won't enjoy that luxury in 2019. The streaming service has pulled the second episode of Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj in Saudi Arabia after the country alleged that it violated a cybercrime law barring content that threatens "public order, religious values, public morals, and privacy." The episode is critical of the Saudi government's apparent murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi as well as the war in Yemen, and suggests that both tech companies and the US as a whole should "reassess" their connection to the kingdom.
Hasan Minhaj's weekly Netflix talk show debuts October 28th
Netflix has revealed that Hasan Minhaj's weekly talk show Patriot Act will debut October 28th. The former Daily Show correspondent's new series was announced earlier this year and Netflix described it as a show that "will explore the modern cultural and political landscape" while Minhaj brings his "unique comedic voice and storytelling skill to investigate larger trends shaping our fragmented world." The show will stream every Sunday and Netflix has ordered 32 episodes so far.

Today, Netflix announced that Hasan Minhaj, a correspondent with The Daily Show, will host a weekly talk show on the streaming network. The company has already ordered 32 episodes of the new show. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix describes the upcoming series as an "opportunity for the comedian to explore the modern cultural and political landscapes with depth and sincerity."
