If you woke up this morning thinking to yourself, "Will today be the day that I see the strangest MMO trailer of my entire life," then we're happy to let you know that yes, yes it is. CCP wasn't just content to slap together a humdrum video highlighting the cool EVE Online snowball-slash-fireworks launcher that it's giving out to players this season; it decided to dial the crazy up to 11 and film the resulting mayhem. So once you hit the jump and watch this (and you will watch it), you'll be treated to such jolly activities such as Santa being incinerated, a charming fairy tale about a witch that eats kids, close-ups of a developer's slack jaw munching on masticated sausage, peeping toms, bleeped swears, and a snowball fight in space. Really, we have no words to sum it up. We best just give it to you and let you be the judge.

Even if you're in a galaxy far, far away, that's no reason to get away from the festivities that Halloween brings. It's time for Star Wars Galaxies to host the Galactic Moon Festival once again, an event wherein mystical Jedi warriors and proud Wookiee soldiers can pretend to be fantastical, made-up creatures like ghouls and vampires. And while there's a touch of thematic disconnect there, if there's one thing we MMO players seem to love, it's a good holiday event. Starting on the 21st of October, the Galactic Moon Festival features everything you could want in a holiday celebration -- cosmetic costumes, minigames, and plenty of little treats for players to acquire over the course of the event. Aside from a variety of rewards to be earned via a particularly terrifying costume, there are new pieces of cosmetic clothing to be purchased, from the elegant Z'zopheratu's jacket to the adorable Rotta the Huttlet backpack. Take a look at the full preview to see what's coming for Star Wars Galaxies with the festival.

There's good news for everyone who's a fan of one of the MMOs supervised by Mythic Entertainment -- Dark Age of Camelot, Ultima Online, and of course Warhammer Online. Admittedly the recent history has not been particularly kind to the game's fans (and has at times been downright unsettling), but the company is still rolling along with its "Twelve Days of Mythic" celebration of the holidays. By following the MythicNews twitter account, fans of the company have chances at prizes as well as special item codes. Here's the breakdown of the process: each day, the MythicNews twitter will post a tweet with a link to a YouTube video. In order to be entered into the giveaway, all that players have to do is retweet the link before the end of the day. Winners will be randomly selected for prizes that "celebrate all the great games you enjoy." In addition, the team will be randomly offering up item codes for Warhammer Online on the twitter feed, with the codes free to anyone who nabs them in time. It promises to be an interesting way for fans of the company's stable to get involved and celebrate the holidays, so grab a Twitter account if you don't have one and enjoy the giveaway.
