As previously promised, here's that gameplay footage of Kung Fu Strike: The Warrior's Rise, which is 7Sixty's Western, XBLA-targeted version of HurricaneX2. Flashy chop-socky on a large scale? Looks groovy to us.

Rumors of developer 7Sixty being hard at work on a kung fu project, based on the Chinese game HurricaneX2, are true. The game is coming to an Xbox Live Arcade near you as Kung Fu Strike: The Warrior's Rise. The teaser trailer above doesn't show much in terms of gameplay, but you can see the screenshots below for more (and there's gameplay of the Eastern version out there as well). The title looks like a quick and stylistic arcade beat-em-up, a genre that certainly has its fans. 7Sixty says the game, which comes with local co-op and versus modes, is showing up on XBLA "early this year." Expect to see more "very soon."%gallery-146945%

Siliconera, who brought us the news yesterday of 7Sixty's intent to localize Phantom Breaker, posted a rumor that the Texas-based publisher is working on an Xbox 360 version of the brawler HurricaneX2. The IGF 2010 and Dream Build Play contestant HurricaneX2, by YouYun Tech, is a fantasy kung-fu game that "emphasizes timing and anticipation over brute strength and provides a variety of fighting gameplay with a unified mechanic." We inquired with 7sixty, who told us "the mystical lotus blossom of information will bloom shortly, showering everyone with petals of honorable truth." Look forward to that ... blooming.
