Maingear, iBuyPower and CyberPower reveal Phenom II X6 1090T-based bargain desktops
It's akin to clockwork, as they say -- Maingear, iBuyPower and CyberPower have all decided to pump out new and / or revised gaming desktops based on AMD's latest and greatest (and cheapest, some would argue) six-core processor, barely waiting 24 hours to do the honors. The Phenom II X6 1090T certainly has the whole low-price thing going for it, enabling this trio of PC builders to offer up complete systems starting at under $1,000. Maingear's new Limited Edition Vybe packs a $999 price tag, USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps support, ATI's Radeon 5000 series graphics, a DVD burner, 640GB WD Caviar Black SATA 6G hard drive and 4GB of DDR3 RAM. Over in CyperPower land, users can select a variety of 1090T-based rigs starting at just $699, while iBuyPower is revamping the Chimera 2-Q, Gamer Fire and Gamer HAF systems to include the new silicon and an all-too-tempting sub-$1k starting point. iBuyPower crams Core i7-980X Extreme Edition into Paladin desktop line
If you somehow held off on buying a Core i7 rig as soon as they popped out last year, you're in luck -- and your poor Pentium II system is flat out of it. Just about everyone has updated their gaming desktop lines this week with an option to splurge on Intel's 3.33GHz (or more) Core i7-980X Extreme Edition processor, and iBuyPower is no different. Said PC builder is now offering the chip within four of its Paladin desktops, and given that the stock clock speed is far too sluggish for your own greedy self, the Paladin XLC V3 ships in an overclocked configuration that promises a 30 percent boost in performance over the stock silicon. iBuyPower Battalion Touch laptop lid draws blood, prompts replacement
Sure, you might expect your laptop to overheat or explode at any moment -- but cut you with a seemingly harmless logo? That's the strange but true case of iBuyPower's Battalion Touch CZ-10, at least, which left one Laptop Magazine reviewer with a nasty gash (that may or may not have required Band-Aid attention) after he decided to inspect a sliver of the "W" that appeared to be peeling off. For its part, iBuyPower says that it has since stopped using the aluminum logo in favor of a plate-style label with rounded edges, and that less than 1% of shipped systems used the troublesome logo. Anyone stuck with one of those is advised to contact iBuyPower for a replacement before it's too late.
Level 10 gaming chassis gains Asetek liquid cooling solution

iBuyPower announced its new Battalion Touch gaming laptop at the beginning of CES last week, but it's just now made the multitouch rig available to order, and finally revealed a price. As expected, there are a whole range of configuration options (including a $150 "Flame" add-on), but if you just want to get your hands on the first multitouch gaming laptop, you can snag a system for $999 that includes Core 2 Duo Mobile P8700 processor, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, a 250GB hard drive, and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 graphics. iBuyPower teases Battalion Touch CZ-10 gaming laptop, punishes subtlety
iBuyPower still isn't offering many details about its new Battalion Touch CZ-10 gaming laptop, but it has produced that image above, which we're pretty sure tells you everything you need to know. Namely, that it's a touch screen gaming laptop (15-inch), and that it has more flames and fangs than your non-Battalion laptop. More details are promised to be coming at CES, but considering this is iBuyPower you can pretty safely bet that it'll be plenty customizable, and it should be available sometime "in the coming months.
iBuyPower nabs exclusive rights to sell Thermaltake Level 10 pre-built systems
So, there are two nagging issues surrounding Thermaltake's awe-inspiring Level 10 enclosure. First, it's $850 and nearly impossible to find in stock; second, you best know how to piece together a full-blown rig yourself, 'cause you won't find this beast hanging around at infrequently visited corners of Dell or HP. iBUYPOWER's Chimera 2 Gaming System has flames on the outside, liquid cooling on the inside

Nearly a month to the day after iBUYPOWER launched its gamer-centric M865TU gaming laptop, the outfit has now given the desktop gamers in attendance something to consider. The liquid cooled Paladin XLC series is comprised of three well appointed models, the XLC V1, XLC V2 and XLC V3. All three of 'em are stored in the monstrous Coolermaster HAF 922 (the V3 gets a HAF 932), while even the lowest end model gets a Core i7-920 processor. Other specs include up to 12GB of DDR3 RAM, as many as three NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 GPUs, upwards of 1TB of HDD space, optional Blu-ray support and Windows Vista Home Premium. Another day, another new one from iBUYPOWER. But this one's different, or so they tell us. You see, the M865TU is being hailed as the most powerful 15-inch gaming laptop ever, and considering that Alienware's M17x can't be included here, we'd argue these guys actually have an outside shot at being right. IBuyPower's been on a pretty good roll of late with these new gaming desktops, and it's keeping things interesting with its latest two.
