EA co-founder Joe Ybarra starts new studio, already planning a Kickstarter
Joe Ybarra, co-founder of Electronic Arts – who worked on the very first Madden, among other things – has opened a new studio, Joe Got Game.The studio's first project will be Shackleton Crater. Named after a real crater on the moon, the turn-based strategy game sees players building and maintaining a lunar colony. "Using research and real lunar data from space agencies around the world," Shackelton Crater promises to offer a realistic representation of what an actual lunar colony might be like (just look at the game's bibliography).As GamesIndustry.biz points out, the Joe Got Game website mentions a Kickstarter campaign, though it doesn't appear to be live yet. Shackelton Crater is aiming for a spring 2014 debut on tablets and PC.
