Another day, another great product from Limefuel. Yesterday we took a look at the company's big-capacity Blast L240X Pro external battery pack, and today we're looking at something that's quite a bit smaller, yet still packs a lot of power - the Dual Port USB 4.8A Wall Charger (US$16.99). The idea behind this little powerhouse is to give you not one, but two 2.4A USB ports in one easily transportable little box. Instead of filling up your house or hotel room with multiple single port Apple power cubes, all with their nasty pointy prongs sticking out, you can hook two of your favorite Apple toys up per wall outlet. When you're done, the prongs fold away to avoid scratching your other electronic gear. With 24W of power and 2.4A of current per port, your devices will charge quickly. You can use your existing charging cables with the device, which measures just 2 x 2 x 1.1 inches (50.8 x 50.8 x 27.9 mm) and weighs a featherweight 2.7 ounces (76.5 grams). Depending on your preferences, you can get the Wall Charger in black or white. While it may be a little too late to order as a stocking stuffer, the Dual Port USB 4.8A Wall Charger is a perfect gift anytime for you or your favorite traveler. Highly recommended! Are you feeling the need for power? We've reviewed external battery packs from Limefuel before, but now they've gone crazy big with the new Blast L240X Pro (US$149.99) Specifications Dimensions: 6.1 x 3.1 x 0.9 inches (155 x 79 x 24 mm) Weight: 17.8 ounces (505 grams) Capacity: 24000 mAh / 91.2 WH Charging time: 16-24 hours Total output: 5V/4.2A (Max) Connector: USB to micro-USB/Lightning connector Design Limefuel makes one of the better-looking external battery packs on the market, with rounded sides that are easy to grip and either a rubberized black or white gloss exterior. There's a single button near the "front" of the Blast L240X Pro that is used for all of the functions - turning on the battery pack, checking the level of charge, and activating the built-in LED flashlight. On "top" of the device near that button is a string of green LEDs to tell you the battery level, and on the front face is a single micro-USB input for charging and four USB output ports. That means if you have four devices that need charging at once and you're nowhere close to a plug, you're in luck as long as the maximum total current draw isn't more than 4.2 Amps for all four ports or more than 2.4 Amps for any one port. How much life will the Blast L240X bring your favorite electronic devices? Well, it depends on the model, but Limefuel estimates up to 158 additional hours of internet surfing, 206 hours of talking on your phone, or up to 552 more hours of listening to music - that last number is a whopping 23 days! Functionality The unique flat cable included with the Blast L240X can be used for both charging the battery pack and for charging one of your devices. Plug it into your favorite USB charging brick (not included) on one end and into the micro-USB port on the other, and you're set. You might want to consider one of Limefuel's Dual Port Wall Chargers ($16.99) to load up the battery pack, as they're capable of putting out 24 Watts of power at 4.8 Amps. The huge capacity of the Blast L240X means that if you've drained the battery, it's going to take almost a day to recharge fully. If you have extreme power needs every day, you might want to get two of these devices and trade them out every other day. One of the best features of the Limefuel battery packs is the design. They feel very solid, and you don't have the feeling that the Blast L240X is going to fall apart or break. This thing is built like a tank. Unlike most other external battery packs, the Blast L240X provides pass-through charging so that you can charge devices while you're charging the battery pack. Conclusion The Limefuel Blast L240X offers unmatched capacity and four USB ports, although at the cost of some extra weight. At $150, it's also one of the most expensive external battery packs we've tested. But if you need lots of power while traveling, the Blast L240X is your best companion. • Limefuel Rugged L150XR battery pack: Designed for adventure

Of the many external battery packs that we see here at the TUAW Labs, just about all of them are designed not for use out in the real world, but in offices and homes. Take any one of the packs that we've reviewed over the years and expose it to the conditions you'd find in the field -- rain, dust, getting banged against rocks -- and they'd fail in a heartbeat. Not so with the Limefuel Rugged L150XR battery pack (US$84.99), which packs 15,000 mAh (57 Wh) of power into a pack that can take whatever the world can dish out. Check out the review, then take a chance at winning a Rugged L150XR to take on your next adventure. Specifications Dimensions: 5.55 x 3.27 x 1.06 inches (141 x 83 x 27 mm) Weight: 12.8 ounces (365 grams) Battery: 15,000 mAh (57 Wh), Lithium-Ion Input: 5V 2.0A (max), charging time of 9 to 15 hours Output: 5V 4.2A (max) total, per port 5V 2.4A (max) Cycle life: over 500 uses Connector: 2-in-1 micro-USB with Lightning-compatible power cable Design Highlights The Rugged LX150XR looks like it can take a lot of abuse. It's IP66 certified, and is water, dust and shock/crush resistant. Water-resistance does NOT mean that you can take this swimming; rather, it can put up with rain, splashes, etc... A protective flap covers the outlets, ensuring that they're not exposed to the elements. If you have a little time and want to see some of the "unofficial" testing that the Limefuel team subjected a Rugged prototype to, watch the following video: Additional info on the Kickstarter page for this product shows the official IP Certification testing for ingress of dust and water underway. It's not recommended, but it certainly appears that the Limefuel Rugged L150XR could take a shower with you. The exterior is a handsome smudge-proof grey rubber that's ridged to make it easy to grip. With two output ports, you can hook up a pair of iPhones or tablets for recharging simultaneously. If you happen to need to charge the Rugged LX150R and your devices, no problem -- the design allows for passthrough charging. The power indicator on the outside of the pack is touch activated, and there's an auto-on/auto-off feature that makes sure that you keep as much of that precious power as possible until you really need it. Functionality Highlights The Rugged LX150XR is the product of a Kickstarter campaign that pulled in a whopping 535 percent of its goal, so obviously there's a large community of people who want an external battery pack that can go almost anywhere. I love the touch-activated battery meter. It's in a slightly dished area on the front of the device so you can find it by feel even in the dark. It lights up with a green glow when tapped, and a circular meter tells you how much charge is remaining. Two other little details that I love: the carabiner-equipped strap that you can use to attach the Rugged LX150XR to a belt loop or backpack, and the really well-designed and lightweight flat USB cable. That cable can be used for charging the battery or your devices, and the USB end is completely flat and compact. The other end has that dual micro-USB/Lightning connector, and I was happy to see that Limefuel's planning on selling these cables separately in the near future. While I didn't take the Rugged LX150XR on a Mt. Everest climbing expedition (I do have to give away the product, after all), one look at the case photo should tell you just how well-built this battery pack is. Limefuel is also going to be selling a 10,400 mAh version of the Rugged called the L104XR for $64.99. Conclusion I've been favorably impressed with Limefuel's previous products; in fact, the company's Blast L180X (18,000 mAh) battery pack is the one that I personally use. The Rugged LX150XR takes the Limefuel line to the next level with an external battery pack that is designed to thrive in outdoor conditions. My only complaint is that it doesn't include an LED flashlight like the Blast line; that would be very useful when taking the Rugged out camping. Rating: 3-1/2 star rating out of 4 stars possible Giveaway It's summertime, a perfect time to take your favorite devices out to the country for a nice camping trip or hike. • The Limefuel Blast L60X external battery pack is power in your pocket

External battery packs are one of the most useful types of accessories you can own. They are endlessly convenient when you're not near your phone or tablet charger and also great for emergency or power outage situations. The Limefuel Blast L60X is one of the more modest entries into this category, with a pocketable form factor and a sleek design, but it's also one of the easiest to recommend. Specifications Capacity: 6,000mAh Charge time: Four to six hours Dimensions: 3.6 x 1.7 x 0.9 inches (92 x 43 x 24mm) Weight: 4.4 oz (124 g) Charging method: USB to micro-USB Design The Limefuel L60X is the most petite external battery that Limeade offers, and it's extremely compact. It'll fit in your pocket without feeling cumbersome and while it's heavy enough to feel solid, it won't weigh you down. A small strip of LED lights on the front shows the current charge level, and both the USB and micro-USB ports are found on one end of the device. There's also a small LED flashlight next to the USB ports that can be turned on by double-pressing the charge button. Overall, it's as simple as could be, and that's perfect for an accessory that isn't meant to be shown off. Functionality With 6,000mAh of juice, the L60X fully recharged my iPhone 5s a couple of times from the 10 to 20 percent range and still had a bit left over. The math says that since the iPhone 5s features a 1,560mAh battery, the L60X should be able to refill it almost four times, but in practice these devices aren't perfectly efficient, and oftentimes it's not even close. The Limefuel seems to be more efficient than most, however, and depending on your device, you can expect two or three full charges from it, and probably have a bit left for emergencies. It's one of the best external batteries I've ever used, and I can promise you I'll have one of these little guys along with me on my next camping trip or long plane flight. Conclusion The best an external battery pack can do is recharge your device as many times as possible, and do so repeatedly. The Limefuel L60X checks both of those boxes confidently, and its sleek form factor and no-nonsense design are just icing on the cake. For US$59.99 (on sale through Amazon right now for $29.99), it's great. Rating: 4 stars out of a possible 4 stars Giveaway Want to give your iPhone or iPad new life without visiting a power outlet?
