Twitter wants to air more live videos on its platform, and it wants to air them all day every day. In an interview with Buzzfeed News, the company's COO and CFO Anthony Noto said Twitter plans to show live sports, news and entertainment videos in its apps and desktop site 24/7. It recently lost the right to broadcast NFL games to Amazon, but it's apparently "working on many, many things" to make its vision a reality even without Thursday night football in its repertoire.

Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom has confirmed to The Financial Times that the Facebook-owned company is bringing live videos to the photo-sharing app. Systrom said in the interview: "Live is really exciting for us. I think it can enhance what we're doing. If I'm trying to strengthen relationships with someone I love, them streaming video to me live would be an amazing way to be closer to them." The feature first surfaced last month as an experimental offering in Russia, where some users spotted an icon clearly marked "Live" next to a row of Instagram Stories.

A Russian publication has spotted an experimental Instagram feature it obviously got its from parent corporation's repertoire: live videos. One of T Journal's readers sent in screenshots and a video of a curious icon lined up with Instagram Stories on top that's clearly marked "Live." It led to a "popular live broadcasts" page, but it refused to load -- not surprising since the company hasn't even officially announced the feature yet. T Journal also posted a screenshot of the app's camera screen that says "Go Insta!" at the bottom, which we're assuming starts a live broadcast.
