Bandai Namco is teaming up with the National Breast Cancer Foundation this month by offering special pink mazes for its mobile Pac-Man games. The mazes will cost $1 each, with 100 percent of proceeds going to the NBCF. Bandai Namco is calling the initiative, which will last until the end of the month, the "Ms. Pac-Man Pink Ribbon Campaign." If you have an iOS device, the list of compatible games is as follows: Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Pac-Man Lite, Ms. Pac-Man Lite, Ms. Pac-Man for iPad and Ms. Pac-Man for iPad Lite. If you're rocking an Android device, your options are limited to Ms. Pac-Man and Pac-Man + Tournaments. "We are very excited about our new partnership with BANDAI NAMCO and the Ms. PAC-MAN Pink Ribbon Campaign," NBCF founder and CEO Janelle Hail said in a related press release. "By encouraging their gamers to Join the Pac, we can reach more women than ever with our message of hope. The funds they raise will allow us to provide early detection services for women in need in all 50 states." [Image: Bandai Namco]

Come February 25, Pac-Man Museum will make its PlayStation Network debut, with Xbox Live and Steam versions following on February 26. Buy the game early and you can add a gratis copy of Ms. Pac-Man to your new surfeit of pellet-chomping adventures. As its name would suggest, Pac-Man Museum is a compilation drawn from the dozens of games starring everyone's favorite ravenous yellow pie chart. Included are copies of Pac-Man, Super Pac-Man, Pac-Land, Pac & Pal, Pac-Mania, Pac-Attack, Pac-Man Remix and Pac-Man Battle Royale - an especially addictive multiplayer take on the Pac-Man formula that's relatively rare outside of Japanese arcades. Those who purchase the game on Steam will also receive a copy of Namco Bandai's recent franchise redux Pac-Man: Championship Edition. Regardless of which platform you prefer, those who purchase Pac-Man Museum between launch and March 31 will receive a free copy of Ms. Pac-Man, arguably the highlight of the franchise's arcade entries. After March 31, this Ms. Pac-Man DLC will feature a $5 price tag.

  • Today's old car junk is tomorrow's video game controller

Every unused car part you have is basically living in your place, rent free. Did you know that? How do we keep letting this junk get away with that?Well, here's an idea: turn that lazy junk into working video game hardware. Jason Torchinsky did just that, using an old power seat controller from an Oldsmobile to play some Ms. Pac-Man. You can check out the whole how-to over on Jalopnik – or, if you're anything like us, you can just call your dad, tell him to come over and make him do it.

Prior to the Hallmark holiday, Valentine's Day, Namco-Bandai Games will unload an iPad version of its iOS game, Ms. Pac-Man. Sadly, we don't have any idea how much it'll cost, but the $4.99 iPhone version that's currently available on the App Store seems like a good starting point for speculation. If you like your pellet-chomping and ghost-accosting a bit more on the masculine side, Namco Bandai Games promises a free update to the iOS version of Pac-Man, which gives the game a special holiday-themed makeover. The re-skinned game is visible in our gallery below. Wakka wakka! %Gallery-115725%

  • New Xbox 360 Elite holiday bundle and Wireless Controller Game Pack announced

We'd been hearing that Microsoft had a new Xbox 360 holiday bundle in the works, and here we go: $299 will nab you an Elite, Lego Batman, and Pure. Not a bad deal -- and if you already have a 360, you can score a new controller, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2, Lumines LIVE!, Bomberman LIVE! and Ms Pac-Man for another $60. The new Elite pack should be shipping to retailers today, but you'll have to wait until November to snag the controller bundle. Now if only Microsoft would see fit to bundle in some freaking WiFi, we'd be all set.

Rumored, pictured, and now shipping to retail, the 2009 edition of the Xbox 360 Elite Holiday Bundle ($300) includes a pair of family-friendly titles from last year in Lego Batman and Pure. But, well, you knew that. (Protip: Grab and stash this before October 5 to be eligible for the $50 rebate.)Also announced today, the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller Game Pack will go on sale in November for $60. The black gamepad and bundle of XBLA titles is so close to perfect with Geometry Wars 2, Lumines Live, Bomberman Live and ... a code for Ms. Pac-Man? Make that a Pac-Man: Championship Edition token and we'd be looking at one of the best gifts you could have given this holiday -- 'cause let's face it, you (should) already own those games.Oh, and still no official word on that popcorn box o' peripherals.%Gallery-74224%

  • Ms. Pac-Man shoes, Space Invaders soap, not news

When video games collide with do-it-yourself know-how and just a little bit of magic, wonderful things happen. Case in point, just look at those Ms. Pac-Man shoes and Space Invaders soaps (which we have arranged in a single image for dramatic effect). With shoes like that, just walking becomes a game -- which it normally isn't, despite what Nintendo tells you -- as Pinky and Ms. Pac-Man engage in a cat-and-mouse chase all day long. And then, when the long day is done and it's time to get clean, you'll have to defend yourself from a squadron of soapy space invaders. What better way to stave off the glycerine-infused hordes than to slowly melt them away until you have to snuff them out in the shower drain? Such is the fate of all soaps, but especially invading soaps from space.Incidentally, if you want a pair of Ms. Pac-Man shoes of your own, the creators, Em & Sprout, have a few left in stock. There are a handful of Space Invaders soaps left too -- from the same company that brought us these -- so get a move on if you want some. Otherwise you'll have to hope they get restocked, or we suppose you could live without them.[Via Wonderland]Source: Em & Sprout - Ms Pac-Man Mary JanesSource: Digital Soaps - Space Invaders soap set

When we say "DIY" we don't necessarily mean you have to "do it yourself" but rest comfortably knowing that someone somewhere had the unique skill-set required to build themselves a homemade Ms. Pac-Man cocktail cabinet. While Christian, the set's creator, didn't write up a detailed step-by-step or record a fancy video, he did take post ten pages worth of pics showing the cabinet in all stages of construction. If Namco Museum DS wasn't enough to sate your Pac-Man fix, perhaps you need a dose of something shiny. It's rare that we see video game jewelry that's both nice and for sale, but the creations by Tiny Armour are exceptions to the rule. Of course, we never said anything about them being affordable. This Ms. Pac-Man ring, for example, will set you back $68. Check out more Pac-Man related jewelry after the jump!

Okay, we're prepared to accept all the cries of "hypocrite!" when we say this, but we're excited to announce that Ms. Pac-Man is this week's Xbox Live Arcade release. Normally we trash retro offerings, but as retro games go, it doesn't get much better than Ms. Pac-Man. The superior sequel to Pac-Man (duh), Ms. Pac-Man ups the ante with more speed, more levels, moving fuit, and, um, a bow. We kind of wish Namco had released Ms. Pac-Man to begin with, but then how would they ever have sold us Pac-Man? The game drops this Wednesday and will be available for 400 points. Check out the "read" link for more screen shots. You may now proceed with the shouting.

  • Chimpanzee plays Ms. Pac-Man, gets eaten by ghost

    by

There are a plethora of reasons for teaching a banana-munching mammal how to play a classic game such as Ms. Pac-Man. A plethora. The prime one, of course, being that it's an excellent and completely unpredictable strategy in obtaining complete world domination. The world's defences would have little choice but to collapse in the face of an army of chimpanzees highly skilled at traversing mazes, collecting various fruits and evading ghosts. Evil dictators and mad scientists would be well advised to watch the YouTube clip (embedded after the break) and see exactly how it's done.Another reason could be to provide commentary on the game's depth (even a chimp can play it!), the chimp's intelligence (he pwn3d my high score!) or the sheer irritation caused by a backseat gamer fingering your screen and telling you which pellet to go after. Whatever the reason, we're glad someone did it. Next week: Hedgehog plays Sonic the Hedgehog, researcher loses eye.[Thanks Franco!]

It's actually an iPod port of the MAME project, and it just looks fantastic. I may have to install Linux on my 'Pod just so I can check this out.[Via Joystiq]
