This week's release list is pretty darn nice, with a variety of genres being represented in the ranks of new titles available for the DS. RPG junkies get their fix with Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates, shoot-em-uppers get something new in Nanostray 2 and the niche crime-solving insect genre gets an entry in Insecticide. How's that for a week of releases? Are you picking up a new game? Going to hammer away at something older? What are you playing?%Gallery-3462%

Taking a look over the NPD sales data for December, we cringe at the thought of how much money we plunked down on gaming goods. Heck, we're floored by how much we just spent on ourselves, let alone the gifts of Nintendo we gave to friends and family. So, no new games for us this week: we've got plenty of titles waiting to be picked up off the back burner. Looking over the new releases this week, we can't imagine you all are all enthusiastic about picking one of these new games up (except for Nanostray 2, but we're holding off on that one for a few weeks ourselves). Unless you're some kind of weird person who wants to play Miami Nights: Singles in the City. And, hey, if you are, then that's cool with us. We won't make too much fun at your expense around the watercooler. Mainly, because Joystiq won't give us one.So, what are you playing?

The trailer above for Nanostray 2 features a lot of aspects of the game that interested parties would want to see. There is some boss fighting and co-op action, not to mention the requisite amounts of blowing everything on the screen up.If that isn't enough for you, be sure to check out the recently created developer diary for the game over at IGN.%Gallery-4607%[Thanks, Jason!]

Nanostray 2 ... on Wii? Orb, Thorn and Midnight all coming this year? When they leak retail information sheets in the UK, they do it right. Wii UK got their hands on a retail list (origin and destination unknown) with few concrete dates and a lot of unexpected, and even unknown games, as well as a few old favorites we're always happy to hear about. Hit the jump for the full list, but keep in mind that these are UK titles and games ... and since there's not much source information, you might want to keep a few grains of salt handy. But it's okay to get a little excited. We won't tell anyone.

The official site for Nanostray 2 has been updated with a shiny new video. We don't want to spoil anything, but it's a lot like taking one of the screenshots and waving it up and down in front of your face. With, y'know, music. Really, this video deal is going to be the hot new thing. You know the drill -- check it out after the jump.

The website for Nanostray 2 has officially launched and within it's very electronic, tube-like walls are some screenshots from the game, as well as a synopsis on what the game is. The launch of the site doesn't bring us that much more, but it does include a section, set aside, for keeping world ranking score. Could that mean that full Wi-Fi Connect support for some multiplayer gameplay is on the horizon for the game? One could only hope ...See also: Nanostray gets the sequel treatment Project manager talks Nanostray 2 First scans of Nanostray 2
