Abraham Van Helsing is an absolute badass in Bram Stoker's Dracula. When everyone else just sort of stands around wondering why all these crazy things keep happening, like boats turning up in port with the entire crew murdered and local folk turning into blood sucking freaks, Van Helsing doesn't doubt. He just takes care of business like the swarthy, good humored Dutchman that he is. He never gets around to casting spells, slinging around guns and beating the crap out of monsters while hanging out with a ghost woman named Katarina in the book, but in fairness, he's older in Dracula than he is in The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 2, Neocore's action RPG sequel to the 2012 cult hit. I suppose all adventurers go through a mass monster killin' and ghost chillin' period in their youth. Joystiq Streams is rocking Van Helsing 2 on Twitch.tv/Joystiq and right here on Joystiq.com starting at 4PM EST. Orsolya Toth, Neocore's community manager, will guide us inexperienced vampire slayers through the basics. We'll also be giving away free Steam keys for both Van Helsing 2 and the original The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing during the stream, because monster hunters love company. Joystiq Streams broadcasts every Tuesday and Thursday at 4PM EST on the Joystiq Twitch channel.

The son of famed vampire hunter Van Helsing is gearing up to slaughter a fresh bunch of monsters in The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 2, Nerdcore Games' second entry in a planned trilogy. Properly planning for an action RPG outing takes time though, a resource Van Helsing Jr. now has - Nerdcore has pushed Van Helsing 2's release from April to May 22 for the sake of polish, which conveniently gives our protagonist enough time for a siesta. Once the adventure continues, players will be able to align with one of three class types; the range and melee-proficient Hunter, the magic-savvy Thaumaturge and the Arcane Mechanic, a deadly-device specialist. The ghostly sidekick Lady Katarina returns to aid players, but aspiring hunters can bring up to three living friends along in a cooperative campaign, or sling attacks in a PvP mode that supports eight competitors total. It's been nearly a year since we've posted about The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing and it doesn't seem like much has changed. This new footage still reminds us a little too much of that other devilish dungeon crawler. We'll get a better look on PC this spring and Xbox 360 "later this year."

Remember the slickly produced teaser trailer for The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing? It turns out that said trailer was pretty far removed from the actual gameplay. Based on newly released footage, it appears that Van Helsing's PC and XBLA adventure will be of the dungeon-crawling variety.

Neocore, known for the King Arthur series, has announced The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, an action RPG "loosely" based on Bram Stoker's famous novel, Dracula. The game stars the famous vampire hunter's twinkly-eyed son – who has an apparent predilection for goofy hats – and "sets players on a fantastical journey to Borgovia, a kingdom on the very edge of Eastern Europe, and the perilous lands surrounding it." Borgovia, naturally, is overrun with monsters, monsters that presumably need slaying. The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing is slated to arrive by the end of 2012 on PC and Xbox Live Arcade. Paradox Interactive has announced that it's going to publish King Arthur 2, a sequel to the role-playing strategy game from a few years back. The title will be developed by Neocore Games, the team behind the original, and this time around introduces a dark fantasy setting for the Arthurian battles -- along with the various demons and dragons that comes with. This time around, King Arthur is known as the "Maimed King" and will face bigger battles and boss fights, while the game takes advantage of an improved camera, new animations and "an extensive tutorial." There's no release date yet, but it sounds like development is just getting underway.
