Apple has announced that it will be opening another Apple Store in the Netherlands this coming Saturday, August 9. The store will be located at The Hague's Passage mall, and joins the company's other stores in Haarlem and Amsterdam. This is the third store Apple has opened in the Netherlands since 2012. If you'd like to attend the grand opening, and presumably get a free t-shirt, the store's address is Passage 39, 2511 AB Den Haag. Here's footage from the opening of the Amsterdam store in 2012.

This weekend will mark the third time Apple has opened three stores in as many weeks. That's nine new stores in only three weeks -- quite an expansion and, you guessed it, almost a third of the 30 new Apple Stores the company plans to open this quarter. The new stores opening this weekend are all international ones. The three stores all open this Saturday, September 3. The first is the Campania store in Naples, Italy. It's doors open at 10AM and will be the first of Apple's seven Italian stores to open south of Rome. Then at 9:30 AM in Augsburg, Germany the City-Galerie store opens. The City-Galerie store will be Apple's sixth in Germany. Finally at 9:30 AM the Mapleview Centre Apple store will open in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Mapleview will be Apple's 21st Canadian Store. Last week Apple opened stores in Arkansas and North Carolina in the US and in Sénart in France. [via ifoAppleStore]

Apple is heading out on a store-opening spree in the next few days (hopefully populated with brand new iPods). If you're in Louisville, San Jose, or Boston, here's three new places you can hang out with Geniuses and play with the iPhone. As Dave noted yesterday, the store at Oxmoor in Louisville, KY has a grand opening scheduled on Thursday at 6pm. Los Gatos, CA, just south of San Jose, is cutting the ribbon at that same time. And the store at the Natick Collection in Natick, MA (which our readers have actually voiced a need for-- Apple is listening!) opens Friday morning at 10 am. Remember that dude who's going around to visit every Starbucks? I'd bet visiting every Apple Store would be a much more fun (albeit more expensive) trip. How come no one's done that yet? Thanks to everyone who sent these in!

  • Blizzard to Venture Further into Console World?

Even though we've heard Blizzard announce time & again that there will be no World of Warcraft for the XBox 360 or any other consoles, a new job listing on Blizzard's website for a Senior Producer position, with one of the requirements listed as having "a proven track record in producing high-quality console games", has some gamers hopeful again that WoW may indeed surface on one of their favorite consoles. The ad also specifies that the idea candidate must have "recently shipped at least one AAA game in a producer role for one of these console platforms: Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, or GameCube.", so apparently they're looking to cast a wide net, whatever their plans might be. Personally, I'm not much of a console gamer, but I still can't imagine any way WoW could truly ever work on a console, at least without the addition of a mouse & keyboard; there's simply too much typing to do. Perhaps there's a way to accomplish this that I don't know about, but I just can't see one being able to have the true WoW experience in a console setting. Then again, what do I know?
