Shipping presents to loved ones during the busy holiday months can be a stressful endeavor, but the US Postal Service is testing something new this year that puts a seasonal spin on the task. Officially called "The Most Wonderful Ornament," the Christmas decoration changes color as the the status of your package is updated. When your package is out for delivery, the ornament lights up blue. Red means the box has been dropped off and green will glow when the recipient has opened it.

World of WarCrafts spotlights art and creativity by WoW players, including fan art, cooking, comics, cosplay, music and fan fiction. Show us how you express yourself; contact our tips line (attention: World of WarCrafts) with your not-for-profit, WoW-inspired creations. It may be relatively quiet around here this week, but World of WarCrafts is still managing to keep the holiday spirit rolling. Allow us to pass along several submissions from crafty readers with a Christmas-y bent ... First up, the Christmas tree ornaments (above) sent in by Faylinne from US Duskwood. Faylinne created these as a gift for Cyer of US Blade's Edge, the friend she credits as inspiring her to play World of Warcraft. Sounds like great results from both sides of that particular equation. Join us after the break for a Horde cookie cutter and gingerbread cookies, plus a small gallery of sweets from a baker new to WoW-themed desserts.

If you're anything like us, you've spent countless hours of your youth hollowing out old gaming controllers for use as gigantic Christmas tree ornaments. Though these might have resulted in years of lopsided tree dilemmas, our penchant for hanging something that at least resembles our favorite gaming controllers on the tree never subsided. Lucky for us that Ponoko user "digits" shares our unique affectation, making a variety of controller-themed ornaments in a handful of different colors. For $25 (plus $10 domestic shipping, more for other territories) we can have all the style we want without all the weight that drives our tree's limbs plunging downward. Talk about a Christmas miracle! [Via GeekSugar]

While we're often awash in gamer crafts -- particularly in this space! -- we just don't see that many holiday-themed gamer projects. Every year there's the occasional tree or set of ornaments, but it just seems there should be more. We dug around and managed to find a few interesting projects, however, and the results range from edibles to a pixelated tree. Just jump into the gallery below to check out holiday projects!%Gallery-39971% Show and Tell is all about fan stuff, so long as it's Nintendo-related. We love to see your collections, your crafts, your frosted creations, your t-shirts and swag of all sorts.Just snap a few pictures, tell us what's up, and send it all to showmeit [at] dsfanboy [dot] com. We'll take care of the rest. Not a handy type, but found something neat? Send us a link instead.

Christmas may be over, but we're still showing off your goods on a weekly basis, and we want to extend the holiday just a little bit longer. What better way to do so than with these bitchin' ornaments? Reader Michael reports that his brother and the brother's girlfriend got the idea for these ornaments after seeing some 1-up mushrooms a friend made for him. The pair decorated their entire little tree with Mario-themed ornaments! Well, except for one ... can you pick out which in the pictures after the jump?Remember, if you have something to show off, we want to see it. From crafts to cakes to collections ... whatever you've got, if it has a little Nintendo flavor, we want to see it. Just take some pictures (or copy your web album links) and send them to showmeit [at] dsfanboy [dot] com. We'll take care of the rest.

What with all the Nintendo-themed ornaments we've seen lately, we can't help but wonder if fandom seeps into your celebrations. Has your love of games infiltrated your holiday decorations? Do you stash a Mario ornament on the back of the tree, where no one can see it -- but you know it's there? Or maybe you go all out and do a themed tree. If Nintendo pops up in your holiday decor, we want to know about it!

Know a Blacksmith or Engineer who haven't really been in the holiday mood? Looking for that perfect present for your friend who took up Mining? (Or are you perhaps the person who just has a World of Warcraft fan as a friend and don't have any ideas?) Well, if you've been hunting for a fun WoW gift for that hard-to-shop-for geek on your list, you should check out this nifty holiday item by Paul Pape. That's right, it's a Khorium Ore-nament, hand-made with little sparkly Swarovski crystals! I have to admit, if my tree wasn't already overflowing with geek ornaments, I'd snap one of these up myself. I know how thrilled I am to stumble across a Khorium vein on my Rogue when I'm running around in-game. It seems like a fun thing to just "run across" in your holiday decor as well. Of course, I suppose you will have to watch out for other WoW players who might gank your node when you're off getting some pie![via Wonderland]

  • It's a Mario Party on a tree

More tiny Mario characters made out of clay, with loops jammed in the top! For attaching to things! The last set was identified as charms, while these are ornaments. That's totally different, right? Actually, it is, because these numerous Mario series characters are made for hanging on a tree -- perhaps a holiday-related indoor tree.If we had the time, Sculpey, and talent, we'd do this ourselves so we could remove the family memories and appropriate holiday-themed baubles with which we've decked out our own Christmas tree, and replace them with more Nintendo stuff. The Christmas tree is the one area that's not completely Nintendo-saturated yet (now that we've had that Clu Clu Land mural painted on the front of the oven.)

  • Mana Princess shows off a Gift Pack for Black Friday

Our favorite WoW crafter, Mana Princess, sends word that she's updated her store for the holidays-- not only has she added some Alliance and Horde ornaments (just in time for tree setup), but she also told us about her Black Friday sale, in which she's selling a gift pack of everything you see above for just $35. It's the perfect gift for the WoW player in your life (even if that's you). And because it's in honor of Black Friday (and also her birthday), when those items are gone at that price, she says they're gone. Now, lest you think we're guilty of favoritism here, while we do like MP a lot, we do realize she's not the only WoW crafter on the block. If you've got some crafts you want to show off (whether you're selling them or not, feel free to drop us a line over on our comment form, and give us a heads up on what you're up to. We love everything WoW, and while Mana Princess makes some great stuff, we're sure she's not the only game in town.
