Look out, it's a hungry horde of Resident Evil games infecting Day 3 of Xbox Live's Games on Demand sale, with five of the nibblers dangerously discounted. Shuffling along at half-price are Residents Evils 4-6 and Operation Raccoon City, taking 4 and 5 to to $9.99 and the other two to $19.99. Savings-wise, the pick of the bunch is Code Veronica, with today's discount digesting 75 percent of its insides and only leaving behind a stump of $4.99.As ever - well, until March 4 - there's a groaning mass of other Games on Demand at sale-severed prices, and one of those groaners is Grid. With the second Grid game nearing the finish line, $4.99 is a decent price at which to dive into Codemasters' racer series.

You've probably played Resident Evil: Code Veronica before. You might have played it on the Dreamcast, or the PS2. Heck, even the GameCube got in on the action. Those versions of the game, however, were all built on inferior technology and, this fall, Code Veronica X HD will raise the bar to a completely new level. No, we're not talking about high definition visuals, we're talking about Achievements. Thanks to its status as a Games on Demand title, the Xbox 360 download of Code Veronica will receive the benefit of a full 1000 gamerscore. Most of the cheevos are story-driven, so it should be an easy bag of points. Now, if only modern technology could do something about Steve...

The official website for Capcom's Resident Evil: Revival Selection has launched, debuting a handful of screens showing how its constituent games (Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica) will look on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Check out these few screenshots in the gallery below, or hit up the official site for more info on the collection. The difference isn't super clear, except in the comparison shot posted above -- though we can't help but wonder if the left, standard resolution side of that image is a poor representation of the original game. It's been a while since we played Resident Evil 4, but we don't remember ever yelling, "Oh, man, shoot that big gray thing with your ... gun? Is that a gun? It kind of looks like a cigar, and I don't think that's going to be very helpful in this particular scenario." %Gallery-119676%

PFFFFSSSS! Sorry, but that's the closest onomatopoeia we could come up with for the sound of confetti coming out of a giant cannon. What's the occasion? Why, it's the one millionth port of Resident Evil 4! It's a big honor, and it goes to Biohazard (Resident Evil): Revival Selection, a set of high-definition updates of RE 4 and Code Veronica, that Famitsu says is headed to 360 and PS3. According to Andriasang, the full title may be "Resident Evil Revival Selection HD Remastered Version," and fair warning: If we have to type that out in full every time, we'll never cover this game again. The updates, which have only been announced for Japan at the moment, will feature RE 4's bonus Ada Wong scenario, "Separate Ways." Dirk the Daring was unavailable as of press time to comment on the possibility of these upstarts shattering his record. That said, if any STARS agents come up missing, we'll make Singe's belly the first spot we check.

The rumor mill has been spinning off its axis since Capcom project manager Matt Dahlgren told us that Wii-owning Resident Evil fans will be "very happy, very soon," inciting feverish speculation on what project will instill said happiness. Game Focus' recent interview with Dahlgren might put said speculation to rest -- according to him, fans of Resident Evil Code: Veronica should pay close attention on March 12 for "news you should be very pleased with."The date that the pleasing announcement will apparently be made coincides with Capcom's San Francisco launch event for Resident Evil 5, a perfect opportunity for the unveiling of a new project -- but is an updated Wii version of Veronica the project everyone was hoping for? To tell the truth, we were holding out hope for a Resident Evil: Survivor remake. Oh, well.[Via 1UP]
