Hard to believe but we haven't been treated to Robert Ashley's brilliant video game podcast, A Life Well Wasted, since November. The drought has finally ended with "Big Ideas," a new episode that includes a fascinating story about how the co-owner of Tetris plans to save the world. Don't miss it.

As we diligently promised so many months ago, we're writing another post with the intention of informing you that Robert Ashley's pseudo-monthly gaming podcast, A Life Well Wasted, has just released a new episode. Titled "Help," Ashley's fifth full show profiles a "successful" pinball maker, talks to a man who pledged to give up gaming of all types for one year (and how he lived to tell the tale), and discusses Desert Bus for Hope with the yearly charity event's creators. We'd normally suggest you run over and grab an Olly Moss poster for the episode to support future productions, but it turns out that all 200 of them already got snatched up. If you've yet to check out the episode, head over to the website and have a listen.

We're keeping our pledge by letting you know that the new episode of A Life Well Wasted, "Artists, Fans and Engineers," is now available for your rabid consumption. We listened yesterday, and it's unsurprisingly packed with great stuff, from a totally reasonable cosplayer to the race-car driver / NES purse designer, Jeri Ellsworth (who's our new hero). While you're at the new site, check out the gorgeous, limited edition Olly Moss posters for each episode. They'd make the perfect gift for us this Christmas, if you were trying to come up with something.

It's okay, Kenny L., we're nerds too. We know what it's like owning the I, Claudius box set and no one understanding. In fact, if we wrote to A Life Well Wasted with pictures of all our stuff and thoughtful descriptions for each image, we're absolutely sure that A.) Robert Ashley wouldn't return our emails and B.) No one would like us, even if he did post it.But alas, we are probably more interested than we should be in the marvel of the BioShock creator's collection, put together for a feature called "Stuff I Can't Live Without." Somewhere between the plastic guitar leaning against his stack of various board games and the eloquent reverence he uses to speak of his wife, we fell just a little bit harder for ol' Ken. We'd love to show you all there is, but why not check out the original post yourself?

After falling and falling hard for Robert Ashley's monthly gaming podcast A Life Well Wasted, we made the decision that we'd give you a heads-up whenever a new show goes live. Why? Because it's just that good. Plus, completely selfishly, we want you to subscribe so he'll keep making them. So sue us.This month, Ashley spends the episode asking why he games, and "gets a first-hand account of what it's like to work on terrible games." So ... what are you waiting for? Go listen!
