  • Lil' Wayne apparently has a modded Xbox

It must be great to be a celebrity. Take rapper Lil' Wayne for example. In a GTR video clip, he tells about an Xbox he received from a friend that plays "every game from A-Z, Atari, Nintendo, pong, movies & even porn." Can you imagine? We didn't even know Microsoft made an Xbox like that, and here celebrities are getting them as gifts. ... What's that? ... It's a modded Xbox? Oh come on, now you're just being naive. Kidding aside, you can say what you will about our close personal friend Soulja Boy, but at least he pays for his games before he totally misunderstands them to be about drugs and alcohol.

  • Are you sitting down? Soulja Boy made a Gears 2 montage

What could we possibly write to make this post complete. Soulja Boy created a montage video of various Gears of War 2 multiplayer footage and yeah, the kid has got skill. Easy. Settle down. No one is saying he can beat you. But, we won't hate on his game because there's an entire video of proof that shows he's good. It isn't like the video is a bunch of random snippets only showing his own kills with complete omission of his deaths. Actually, never mind. Seriously though he does have some skill, apart from using the shotgun as a ranged weapon. One question about the video though Soulja (or Mr. Boy?), what is with the slow dance sequence at the end of the video. Left-turn, sir.[Thanks, Stuart M.]

  • Beefwatch: Totilo beats Soulja Boy! ... at Geometry Wars 2

Sure, our favorite game journalist, Stephen Totilo, may have promptly lost the last two games he played against the Braid-loving rap auteur in Gears of War 2 and Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix. But for one glorious moment, Soulja Boy's lunch had been eaten, and Totilo's face was covered in crumbs. If you've got the notion, you can watch the full battle over on MTV's site. On a side note, we think we may have turned the corner on Soulja Boy. We think ... we think maybe we're totally into him.

This isn't necessarily gaming news, but if there's an opportunity to talk about our two favorite people on the planet, we're going to take it. First, our favorite video game journalist Stephen Totilo was called out by The Pied Piper of Dumb People, Soulja Boy. Then, defying all logic, Totilo answered the call out with another call out, the urban equivalent of the "double dog dare." You can see the beef 'a brewing in video form after the break.Totilo has picked his game, Geometry Wars 2, and will allow SB to pick his own for a challenge to go down in NYC next week. Our suggestion to Soulja Boy? Soulja Boy.

  • Soulja Boy game coming to Xbox 360 in 2009

There's not much more to say really. Soulja Boy, game critic and online gamer extraordinaire (and also rapper), has dropped a bomb on the gaming world: He has a video game heading to the Xbox 360 in 2009. No details about the game have been revealed. According to Soulja Boy it was inspired by the "challenge" he recently posed to Xbox Live gamers. In his own eloquent words: "After I put the Xbox 360 challenge up on the Internet, it was over all these video game sites. And a couple video game companies hit me up on my email because I put the email on there too. And hit me up like, 'Blah, blah, blah, blah.' So I was like, 'Oh snaps!'" Soulja Boy neglected to mention which game companies contacted him. That's unfortunate, because we really need to know who is responsible for this. No word yet whether his game will be for people who smoke or people who drink.[Via Joystiq]

  • Soulja Boy tells 'em he wants to make video games

When rapper Soulja Boy is done being a one-hit wonder international superstar he's got some big dreams. He wants to go to college, he wants to start his own clothing line, own his own shoe line and, as you can see at the 2:33 mark in the video below the break, design video games. We know we're going to get a glut of commenters decrying his intentions, but we think it's a great, great idea. For one, he says in the video he once dreamed of being a Flash animator (really), though he admits in the same breath that "sounds kinda gay" (also really). For two, did you have the design insight to know that Braid was actually for people who smoke or people who drink? We think not.[Via Pushing Play]

Oh man! Hey it's your boy, Soulja Boy Tell 'Em, and they got this game, right, for people who smoke, or people who drink -- like if you drink beer and you get drunk, or if you smoke weed and you get high -- and you just, anything, like, if you just be gettin' *bleep'd* up. They got this game, right, I don't know, this *bleep* called FEIST -- hold up! Watch this *bleep*. [Please press play on video player above.]It's about this little guy in a black suit, and he walk around -- they ain't got no point to the game -- you just walk around jumpin' on *bleep*. It look like Mario in a *bleep'd* up dream. It's Mario as a fuzzy ball wit' lil stick arms and legs. And he just walk around jumpin' and *bleep* -- but what's the funny part about it ... it's Mac exclusive![Download the free beta from the link on IndieGames.com.]

  • Finally! Soulja Boy reviews Braid

Okay, we have to come clean: we haven't actually bought Braid. Yes, we dumped effusive praise upon its digital being. We even devoted an entire feature to convincing people how great it is, but still we did not buy it. Why? Because we were awaiting the learned opinion of one man. Yes, that man is (of course) Soulja Boy. We'd like to attempt to summarize his opinion of Braid but, frankly, it has a profound eloquence that cannot be captured by mere mortals like us. Suffice it to say that you're just going to have to watch it yourself. Find it after the break (it's NSFW, by the way).

When worlds collide it's often awesome, producing something greater than the sum of two parts. But sometimes it makes something absolutely cringe worthy. Sadly, when rapper Soulja Boy discovered Braid and gave his considerate, well-reasoned and utterly profane critique (which you can watch right after the break, if you're not at work), it was one of the latter situations.Oh, and while you watch, try to decide which is more entertaining: watching Soulja Boy mistake Braid for bong time fodder or reading comments from people who are so angry at him for not "getting it."[Thanks, Kat]

  • Soulja Boy plays with Xbox 360 Special Edition Sidekick LX, pleads for attention on video

Why lust after a Zunephone when you can have an Xbox 360 Sidekick LX? Based on an admittedly bizarre and entirely painful-to-watch video posted up in the read link, Soulja Boy is seen spazzing out over what appears to be a special edition Sidekick LX. The unit is branded (at least in the software) with Xbox 360 logos, and there's also a copy of Resident Evil: Genesis on there that he toys with momentarily. So, the question here: is this thing legit? On one hand, Danger does have a thing for pumping out limited run Sidekicks like they're going out of style, and plus, it would probably have a hard time convincing an A-list rapper to carry a prototype Sidekick. On the other, we're really inclined to believe this is just a sad way for Soulja Boy to fill up his inbox with soulless emails. "SouljaBoyTellEm@tmail.com -- holla atcha boy!"

Rapper Soulja Boy released his debut album last year and immediately had a smash hit with the single "Crank Dat Soulja Boy." The popularity of the song has spawned many parodies and imitators, including some in the world of Azeroth. But instead of just putting the rap song under WoW footage, this Machinimist rewrote the lyrics to sing the praises of Boomkin PvP dominance. You'll never look at Deathchickens the same after this.Previously on Moviewatch...
