Physics-based puzzle games can be a little hit-or-miss – sometimes literally. While the element of unpredictability can be addictive in games about knocking down structures with furious birds, it can also lead the way to frustrating trial and error when the physics refuse to cooperate. The Splatters on Xbox Live Arcade hits more than it misses, but it has a few issues that keep it from splashing onto the walls of the physics puzzle hall of fame.%Gallery-130386%

Xbox Live members can all get The Splatters starting April 11. No, we're not talking about intestinal discomfort, but rather The Splatters, a physics puzzler starring a troupe of amorphous blobs. The April 11 launch date was recently added to Xbox Live Marketplace and subsequently confirmed by developer SpikySnail, reports XBLAFans.Lest you've forgotten, The Splatters has players launching happy balls of goop through obstacle filled stages, setting off bombs and generally creating havoc. For a better refresher, you can check out a new trailer above.

Frankly, we always thought "the splatters" is something you really want to avoid on long car trips, but apparently The Splatters is a video game too. Based on the trailer, it appears the goal is to zip through stages, exploding bombs and causing as much bodily harm as possible to the gelatinous Splatters. It, uh, looks neater than it sounds. Developed by SpikySnail, The Splatters is set to debut on Xbox Live Arcade next year. Lucky PAX Prime attendants, however, will have a chance to check it out later this month at Microsoft's booth (6301).%Gallery-130386%
