  • Faction frustrations eased in Wrath

If you've played a Feral Druid to 70, especially in the early days of The Burning Crusade, you probably remember grinding out Exalted with the Cenarion Expedition for your Earthwarden. Personally, my pet faction was Lower City. As a Shadow Priest, I drooled heavily all over the Gavel of Unearthed Secrets. I had hit level 70 before Karazhan raids were commonplace on my server, so I found myself in Shadow Labyrinth at every opportunity. Say what you will about the irritation of running Steamvault constantly, I think Shadow Labyrinth is just a little more frustrating. Admittedly, if I had waited a few weeks, I probably could've gotten a Nathrezim Mindblade pretty easily when Karazhan runs picked up, but what can you do?To help avoid this irritation, Wrath of the Lich King will be introducing something currently called 'championing.'

Last week, Insider Trader began the journey from 300 to 375 jewelcrafting skill. While we were able to avoid using recipes that required faction reputation or that had to be farmed, the cheapest methods to 375 from about 365 may require a bit more effort to obtain. If you are like so many other craftsmen, stuck with 375 seeming far away and expensive, then carry on through the break to examine ways to not only maximize your skills, but to attempt to make a profit while doing so, rather than running on a loss. Featuring several distinct ways to reach 375, you will find that you have many choices to suit your own needs, your guild's needs, and your server's market. In addition, I've put together some links for further reading that you should find helpful. Each week, Insider Trader takes you behind the scenes of the bustling sub-culture of professional craftsmen, examining the profitable, the tragically lacking, and the methods behind the madness. For more guides to maximizing your chosen profession, check out the final stretches for Leatherworkers and Alchemists alike, as well as part one of Jewelcrafting's final stretch. • Rogue tanking? Get ready to Parry! Dodge! Spin!

Parry! Dodge! Spin! is an entertaining and informational rogue blog written by Valenna. He has brought up an interesting idea: in some instances, in some situations, rogues can be viable main tanks. To understand this better, you first have to read his earlier post: Dirty Tricks To Surviving. This should be required reading for every rogue that out aggros the tank in a PuG. Obvious to some, but then you come across a rogue that doesn't understand why they are getting rezzed every five minutes. After that, check out Dirty Tricks To Tanking. Valenna recommends the Surviving tricks minus the deaggro moves. Then he recommends piling up the Stamina gear, a Medallion of the Alliance to remove impairments and have some heavy dps and a back up tank along. With this set up, he has tanked Old Hillsbrad and Steamvault.Any one else tried a non-standard role and survived? Any other Rogues pull off the tanking role with some cleverness and forethought?
