WoW-centric webcomic The Daily Blink -- which called it quits this summer -- has returned from retirement to comment on Ghostcrawler's retirement with a new comic. Though it doesn't seem like The Daily Blink is returning for good, you can enjoy at least one more comic -- though if you haven't seen Tron, you might not get the joke. So, bye, Ghostcrawler -- but won't you come back to us, Daily Blink? We've missed you and no doubt Zahrym has missed you, too.

Sunday Morning Funnies is your weekly list of WoW-related web comics. Each week, in addition to bringing you the latest in comic-goodness, SMF is featuring a regularly updating WoW-related web comic. Check out The Daily Blink: The Daily Blink is a WoW-related web comic by Chris Hanel. It consists of funny, one-off jokes about Blizzard, the in-game experience, the developers, classes, characters, and the like. It experiments with a variety of styles; for example, there are mock magazine covers, meme parodies, and staged in-game situations. The subject matter is often topical, riffing off of the latest news or the popular complaints du jour. Hanel uses WoW Model Viewer, Machinima Studio and Photoshop to create the comic. The Daily Blink updates on Wednesdays.

I'll let you in on a secret: I have a daughter. She's nearly 6 months old and it's only by raw, sheer, unadulterated force of will that every one of my posts on WoW Insider isn't "Look how squishy she is!" I read to her frequently. And while I'm not necessarily proud of it, River's enjoyed more than a few of the collected works of Chris Metzen. And while the crew at Blizzard spin a heck of a tale, relatively few Azerothian quests really make for great baby reading material. The crack team at The Daily Blink have rescued me with When I Level Up. With a wry and wonderful sense of humor, When I Level Up is the WoW-themed reader I've been craving. Praising virtue, good spirits, and the inexorable spirit of a child growing up in Azeroth, When I Level Up is truly a treat for the whole family. To The Daily Blink, I tip my hat -- and my Squishy -- to you. Make sure to go read When I Level Up at The Daily Blink.

  • Interview: Funny guys Chris and Mike of The Daily Blink webcomic

Readers of our Sunday Morning Funnies will immediately recognize the wry mockery of The Daily Blink webcomic. It's all over the web of Warcraft. So are its creators; "great guys" is the phrase you'll hear over and over again. Chris Hanel and Mike Owen are funny guys, too -- and because they're both also rather talkative guys, we'll hop right into our exclusive interview with the creators of this popular World of Warcraft webcomic. WoW Insider: For keeping us laughing with The Daily Blink, you guys have obviously added up a lot more than 15 minutes of fame under your own steam. How did The Daily Blink come to wink into existence? Chris Hanel: The idea of The Daily Blink grew out of this because I'd opened up my screenshots directory to Photoshop a wallpaper for my guild and spotted a shot I'd taken of Katrana Prestor standing next to Prince Wrynn, and started mentally writing an Onion article-type joke in my head. I ended up doing that instead of the guild wallpaper, made a couple more, and then started posting them on the blog. I posted four, left the blog shortly after due to lack of time, and then quickly forgot about the idea for a few years. It was an idea without a home. The strip actually became what it is now in January 2010, when I finally got back on the horse and decided to give it a full and earnest shot as a regular webcomic. I had a coworker, CP, who worked with me on it as a cowriter for that first year before our company closed and we parted ways. That was also right about the time I met Mike.

A special thanks to reader Moeru, who found the archives of the Equinox comics using the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. I hope this helps you, Michael! But seriously, if any of you haven't read through these archives, they're worth it! Now, for the trivia questions: What's going on in the picture above? Who is wearing a monocle? Name a typical video game move (bonus points if it is a WoW move) that works like PPPP.

Another week, another list of comics for your enjoyment. I hope you're all enjoying the lovely June weather! I sure am, now that the heat wave has passed. For this week's random trivia question, finish this sentence: This week's Daily Quests comic is a nod to _____? This week's unexpected right-hand photo is a lady on a birdie mount. Seemingly unexciting, right? But something has been queued up - in her mind. I wonder whether it was realized in more, or less, time than it took for the BlizzCon tickets to sell out? And Bink? All you really do need is love. Except when you break the gaming computer during raiding season; then, you owe.

It's almost June, but where I'm living, it's been feeling like late July. I hope everyone has been out enjoying the weather, especially during this pre-Cataclysm slump. Before you head out today for your picnic, BBQ, walk in the park, or afternoon raid, SMF has quite a sizable list of comics for your enjoyment. We even have two brand-spanking new-to-the-list comics this week, thanks to a couple of tipsters. Don't forget to make suggestions for comic inclusions in the comment section! This week's discussion topic is a free-for-all. Talk about your favorite character, an artist's shading technique, suggest a future discussion topic, or whatever else is on your mind.

This week, in addition to your regularly scheduled comic updates, I'll be adding in links to the few comics that slipped through the cracks while I was in, and just returning from, WiFi hell (and the wonderful Kelly Aarons filled in). This week's list is pleasantly long, but I'm always looking to stretch it. Was something overlooked? Did a comic update late? Do you know of a comic that isn't featured on this list, but is related to WoW? Leave a tip in the comment section! Speaking of the comment section, this week's discussion topic involves pointing out a few of your favorite panels of artwork from any of this week's comics and saying a bit about why you love them. Don't forget to mention your favorite one-liner, too!

This week we have an ocean adventure, a suspicious "murder," a shrewd case of blackmail, and much more. In related news, my WiFi troubles have cleared up! Big thanks to Kelly Aarons for filling in last week. This week's discussion topic, should you choose to accept it, is: Leave a comment about your opinions on artwork in a comic that might get overlooked by many readers. Tell us why you think it's awesome, unique, quirky, or otherwise floats your boat - or your ocean rider 3000, for that matter. This week's topic was inspired by last week's discussion that resulted from some not-so-constructive criticism left by a commenter. Trolls are inevitable, of course, but the incident reminded me that we see a lot of comments about the super popular comics, and less about the rest, even though there are plenty of positive things to say. Onward!
