TikGames is following its licensed Scarygirl release on PS Minis with a new PSN/XBLA game, published by Square Enix. Called simply "Scarygirl," the platform-action game is based on a graphic novel about a girl with a tentacle arm and pirate garb, who goes on a no doubt scary adventure to discover the meaning of her dreams (which are also frightening.) In local multiplayer, she's accompanied by the kung-fu rabbit Bunniguru, with whom she can perform tandem special moves. Scarygirl will begin her jaunt on XBLA January 18. A PSN release will follow on January 24, with a PC version due in "early 2012."%Gallery-143071%

  • Stick Man Rescue gets to the chopper on PS Minis

TikGames' new PlayStation Mini puts you in charge of a helicopter picking up tiny little stick men from a series of unfortunate situations. Stick Man Rescue sounds like a stick version of Choplifter, as you're tasked with picking up a prescribed number of stick men from each level, preventing them from "being burned alive, smashed, decapitated, blown up, electrocuted, dissolved by acid, and other classic demises" by the evil blue Stick Minions. To help you get through the deathtraps, you can upgrade your chopper's weaponry. Stick Man Rescue will be a Plus exclusive when it debuts January 4 in Europe and January 10 in North America. The rest of us PlayStation Plebes will be able to buy it January 18 in Europe, and January 24 in North America.%Gallery-142619%

This week's release on Xbox Live Arcade is the peculiar first-person shooter, Xotic. Rather than killing enemies, the focus of Xotic is purely on points. There are new Xbox Live Arcade games released every week. We realize that our readers are busy, attractive people, and may not have time to download and examine each and every new XBLA game. You've got busy, attractive person stuff to do, after all. Not to worry though, because we've done the work for you, downloading every single trial game and giving you a taste of what to expect. Watch XBLA in Brief every week to see which games deserve a closer look. When you have the time, of course.

  • Exceptionally colorful FPS Xotic announced for XBLA

No one can accuse Xotic of having that generic brown-and-grey FPS "look." Developer WXP Games has some experience in the genre, having developed last generation's Greg Hastings Tournament Paintball, but is going decidedly sci-fi with this XBLA-exclusive title. Like another colorful FPS -- Bulletstorm -- the game features a bright organic environment and even seems to share a focus on racking up combos. Single-player elements such as leveling up skills and weapons using experience points are listed in the feature set, but multiplayer isn't mentioned. Currently without a pricetag, Xotic will be available this summer.%Gallery-121285%

You've seen videos of TikGames' Wakeboarding HD, but it's hard to shell out $10 $15 for a new game that you haven't played. Tomorrow, a free demo of the game will be available on the PlayStation Store in both Europe and North America. "Creat Studios has already received great response to Wakeboarding HD, and we are excited to offer PSN players a demo version of the game," Creat Studio CEO Vladimir Starzhevsky said in a press release. "After performing a couple of tricks and riding the realistic waves, we are confident that players will love Wakeboarding HD." Since its release, the PSN exclusive has suffered from a critical panning on Metacritic, earning a 58. However, user reviews seem much more positive (78). Playing the demo should give you a better idea of who's right.

  • Hamster Ball rolls onto PSN this week

TikGames is launching yet another game on PS3 this week via the PlayStation Network: Hamsterball, a self-described, hamster-themed mix of "Marble Madness and Super Monkey Ball." As with other games featuring plastic-trapped mammals, Hamsterball looks to be a race through suspended mazes, with the goal of achieving faster and faster completion times. In addition to the requisite single-player campaign, Hamsterball also features a two-player split-screen mode and a seven-player "sumo" mode. We're not entirely sure what "sumo" is supposed to mean, but it's true that the PS3 can support up to 7 controllers locally -- so will Hamsterball be one of the few games to actually support this feature? Hamsterball will be available for $9.99 on the North American PlayStation Store this Thursday, March 25.%Gallery-88724%

It looks like Cuboid, one of three upcoming PSN games from Creat Studios, will be released soon. A post on the PlayStation Blog by Creat Producer Olga Sokolova shows a little more of what we can expect from the game. Cuboid will sell for $9.99 when it releases "soon" and will include 66 levels (that's just over 15 cents a level). Creat promises that there will also be post-launch premium packs including new levels as well as a level editor. Check out the video after the break to see the game in action and check out the PlayStation Blog post for some details on some of Cuboid's gameplay mechanics.

  • Become real po-lice with Interpol, now on the XBLA

If throughout the night you were dreaming of wielding a virtual magnifying glass to help solve fake crimes then Xbox Live has made your wishes come true. Today on the Arcade, dream makers at TikGames have released Interpol: The Trail of Dr. Chaos, which is entirely too cool a name for the game it's attached to. Clocking in at 135MB, Interpol is basically an eyesight test that up to four people can play online. Players are given a list of items and using an over-sized magnifying glass they pick them out of a static HD screen shot. You know, let's not poo-poo this one right out of the gate. Apparently the series is quite popular on PC and does offer a nice relaxing change of pace ... for 800MS points. Plus, where else can you play as an internationally respected agent who solves crimes by standing 30 yards away from a scene holding a giant magnifying glass? You know, like real po-lice.Click here to download the free trial of Interpol

We've found a lot of holiday-related reasons to get nostalgic over the past few days, but a recent announcement from PlayStation.Blog provided us with our latest excuse to sprint down memory lane. We imagine it will do the same for you as well -- didn't everyone spend a summer at their grandmother's retirement home, playing intense, high-stakes rounds of Mahjong, wagering tubes of Fixodent and coupons for Ponderosa? No? Just us?You'll be able to recreate the experience this January when Majong Tales: Ancient Wisdom hits the PSN, available for any discerning tile-matcher with $9.99 to spare. The subtitular "Ancient Wisdom" will be delivered in the form of five Chinese morality tales, each of which broken into ten cutscenes which are shown between rounds of Mahjong. We acquired our own "Ancient Wisdom" during that steamy summer at the Quivering Oaks Retirement Community -- octogenarians won't think twice about cheating when free denture paste is on the line.

With its aggressive pursuit of the casual market, it makes sense that Microsoft would want one of the most popular types of casual games -- seek-and-find -- to be represented on Xbox Live Arcade. Fans of the genre will finally be able to get their squint on when TikGames brings newly-announced Interpol to the download service. If you've been chomping at the bit to stare endlessly at messy rooms, you'll get your chance this Winter for 800 ($10).%Gallery-38426%

Being a little slow on their announcement, today Microsoft announced that this Wednesday, September 17th, the Xbox Live Arcade will be receiving a double dose of Arcade goodness, with both Feeding Frenzy 2 Shipwreck Showdown and Domino Master seeing a release. Both games will set you back 800 Microsoft points and both games have, uh ... Xbox Live leaderboards? Yes, it's a stretch, but that's all we have. And now we're hungry for pizza ... darn.
