Atlus sent out not just one, but three short trailers for Tokyo Beat Down, Success Corp.'s new DS brawler. We hate to say it, but the animation looks pretty choppy in these videos. But the concept of the game -- cops beat up tons of dudes -- and the hilarious writing ensure that we will be giving this one a chance.Above, Lewis Cannon demonstrates his nonviolent communication skills. After the break, two more trailers, featuring Cannon shopping for justice (which, of course, he dispenses by punching and shooting dudes), plus Takeshi Bando and Rika Hyodo handing out a few Tokyo Beat Downs as well. Beat Down is out March 31.%Gallery-41390%

Last year, developer Sting announced two new games in their Dokapon board game/RPG series: Dokapon Kingdom for Wii and PS2 and Dokapon Journey! for DS. Atlus picked up Kingdom and released it in October, seemingly leaving the DS game behind. Apparently, Wii and PS2 owners bought a sufficient number of copies of Dokapon Kingdom, because Atlus has announced that they're localizing Dokapon Journey, for release on April 14 -- just as Amazon.ca "predicted"!In another press release, Atlus announced delays for some of their upcoming handheld games. The mindblowingly awesome-looking Tokyo Beat Down is now coming out March 31st, The Dark Spire is scheduled for April 14th, and Steal Princess is out April 21st. We don't mind having all the Atlus releases spaced out a bit, really.%Gallery-20125%

Tokyo Beat Down is a new action game for Nintendo DS where the only answer to crime is to punch it in the face. The Beast Cops make the LAPD look like the ladies from The View with their questionable ethics and overwhelming weaponry. Fight every sort of criminal, drug dealer and murderer in Tokyo, and you'll have a chance at taking down "the ultimate crime boss." If you make it that far, chances are you'll punch him in the face as well.Atlus is wholeheartedly embracing the cheese factor of Tokyo Beat Down with dialogue that includes classic lines like "Crime never waits, so why should justice?" and "Fists can solve any problem!" If you're looking for a campy DS game, you may want to mark down March 10th on your calendars.

Remember Success's police brawler Tokyo Doujitahatsu Terror Wo Chinatsuseyo? Atlus did! In another wonderfully surprising Success acquisition, the publisher has announced plans to release the beat-em-up in North America on March 10 under the catchy title Tokyo Beat Down. Players control an elite Tokyo police division called the Beast Cops, who rid the streets of terrorists and other criminals by beating the hell out of them. A true arcade-style brawler, the cops can "hurl enemies into each other, chain together combos, execute special moves and throws, and then let loose on your foes with an arsenal of firearms, ranging from the small to the obscenely large". We didn't think we needed any more DS games in the next couple of months, but we were SO WRONG. There is always room in our hearts, wallets, and Penguin United DS game cases for an arcade brawler. %Gallery-41390%
