A new batch of indie games will be on sale every two weeks through PSN in Europe. The first three to jointly cut the ribbon on this new promotional indie carousel are Pid, Topatoi and Zack Zero. Pid (was £7.99, now £4.79; extra 30 percent off for PS Plus) is an action/puzzle game from Might and Delight, an outfit comprised of ex-Grin folk. Topatoi (was £7.99, now £3.19; extra ten percent off for PS Plus) is a notoriously difficult episodic platformer from Boolat Games, and Zack Zero (was £7.99, now £2.39; extra 25 percent off for PS Plus) from Crocodile Entertainment rounds out the group with its 2.5D action-platforming. If you'd like to learn more about these games, the PlayStation Blog has also published some commentary from each of the participating developers.

The next episode of PSN-exclusive platformer Topatoi will be arriving on the European PlayStation Store tomorrow, February 4th. The Pillar of Skies promises seven new chapters, ten new arcade levels and a new "Double Mode" that allows two players to go through levels cooperatively. With 11 new Trophies to acquire, this second episode should take about ten hours to complete. The Pillar of Skies is not a standalone product. Instead, it acts as an add-on to the original Topatoi. You won't have to beat the original game, but you will need it installed in order to go through the new content. See a trailer after the break. %Gallery-80110%

  • PSN Thursday: Begun, the Mushroom Wars have

The PSN update returns this week with another game that looks adorable and safe, yet conceals some disturbing ideas. Mushroom Wars looks beautiful and innocent, but like any good RTS, it's all about exterminating the competition. Genocide isn't supposed to be cute. This comes following Capybara's Critter Crunch, last week's "cute, yet disturbing game," and remember Fat Princess? That wasn't all that long ago either. We're sensing a theme ... a theme we can't help but put money down on. Check out the full PSN update after the break. Choose your platform to view the corresponding release list: (Note: Continue past the break to view both release lists.)

Back in July, we wrote a headline about Topatoi and its slow journey to the US. Well, looks like we were right: more than three months after its original European release, Topatoi will finally grace the American PlayStation Store next week, on October 15th.Critics have been mixed about the PSN platformer, with Worth Playing calling it a "fantastic platformer" while OPM faults the game's "mystifyingly unintuitive control mechanic." It won't be long until we can judge the game for ourselves, though.

We haven't heard much from Topatoi, the spinning 3D platformer developed by Ukrainian developer Boolat Games, since it was announced last November. Now, suddenly, the European PlayStation Blog has revealed that the game will be released this week -- but only in Europe. Boolat's PR manager calls Topatoi "the first part of the saga" and notes that the game will include split-screen multiplayer, with future updates providing more multiplayer modes. No word on an American release yet -- but it definitely won't be this week. The official Boolat website says an announcement will be coming "soon."%Gallery-66362%

A few more discoveries were made today off the ESRB website. Looks like American PS3 owners will be able to download Buzz Jr. RoboJam off the PSN some time soon. The family friendly PSN game is a port of a PS2 game with the same name and has some of the easiest Trophies around. It'll require the Buzz! buzzers though, so many trophy hunters will be out of luck.A new SingStar game has also been discovered on the ESRB. The SingStar Sampler Pack looks to be yet another expansion to the franchise, this time featuring David Bowie, Fergie, Amy Winehouse, Rockwell, and the Smashing Pumpkins. Finally, long-lost PSN game topatoi looks like it may actually be coming out. • Topatoi spins onto PSN this winter

Here's another PSN game for you. Topatoi is a 3D platformer, with a twist -- a gyroscopic twist. Raph, a brave explorer, has made an emergency landing in an uncharted part of the world. He must find spare parts throughout the world to fix his spaceship and save his girlfriend. In order to do so, he'll have to traverse through various puzzle/platforming stages with his ATG: All-Terrain Gyroscope. It works like a giant spinning top toy. Controlling the ATG will be a bit tricky, as spinning it properly will affect the top's speed and behavior.Developed by Boolat, Topatoi will be available Winter 2008 through the PlayStation Store. To check out screenshots, go to WorthPlaying.
