Third-person sci-fi shooter Scourge: Outbreak is now available on Steam, and is 10 percent off ($7.19) until Wednesday, April 9. Developed by Tragnarion Studios, the game first launched on Xbox Live Arcade in July 2013 after being announced in May 2012. The squad-based shooter features eight-player competitive multiplayer modes like Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag spread across five maps as well as a four-player cooperative campaign mode. Tragnarion Studios also launched the game's two DLC packs this week, the Blindside and Fan Packs. Both are currently 20 percent off ($1.59) until April 9. The Blindside DLC, an add-on that amounts to six versus maps, is packed in with a digital artbook and soundtrack in the Ambrosia Bundle version of the game, which is also 10 percent off this week ($8.09). Tragnarion Studios, who you may (may!) remember from the DS game Doodle Hex, is working on a futuristic third-person shooter for XBLA, PSN (PS3), and Mac. Yes, those are the correct platforms.Scourge: Outbreak introduces the "Echo Squad," a group of mercenaries hired to take out the Nogari Corporation, conveniently located on Nogari Island. Four players can team up to infiltrate the "alien-infested facilities," locate a double agent, destroy the Nogari, and gain control of the "Ambrosia" power source. Functionally, this means co-op shooting, with story segments coming through as flashbacks from the four separate characters.Scourge: Outbreak will allow players to stop both the scourge and the outbreak this Q3, "later this summer."%Gallery-155912%

Tragnarion Studios has released the first trailer for it's upcoming episodic shooter for PC, Xbox Live Arcade and PSN, The Scourge Project. The trailer sports Unreal-powered graphics and paints a picture of a bleak world in which a monstrous menace seems to have infested all walks of life. The gameplay should be familiar to fans of third-person shooters, and appears to bare more than a few similarities to Gears of War (huge soldiers, space bugs, the color brown, etc.). As previously announced, the game will featured co-op for up to four players as well as multiplayer for up to sixteen players. It's also slated to have "a unique focus on co-operative narrative and gameplay," in which different characters have a different perspective on the story. The Scourge Project: Episodes 1 & 2 will hit Steam this March, with XBLA and PSN releases to follow.

click to enlarge Tragnarion Studios has announced that it will soon bring its third-person shooter, entitled The Scourge Project -- first announced in 2007 -- to Xbox Live Arcade, PSN and Steam. The game, powered by the Unreal Engine, promises "a unique focus on co-operative narrative and gameplay," in which each of the four playable characters will have a unique perspective on the story. From a more meat-and-potatoes standpoint, the game features five hours of gameplay over four levels, nine different weapons and co-op for up to four players (each with different special abilities). The Scourge Project also offers versus multiplayer for up to sixteen players and includes deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture the flag and "Frontier." The game certainly seems to be packing some graphical chops, especially compared to Tragnarion's previous project for the DS, a puzzler called Doodle Hex. The game is expected to debut on Steam this month, while the XBLA version is scheduled to arrive in March 2010. The press release does mention a PSN version of the game, though it doesn't appear in the body of the text. We've contacted Tragnarion to see if the PSN listing was legitimate or made in error. To be honest, this Doodle Hex trailer completely vexes us. For one, it's entirely devoid of gameplay footage. For us, when we check out a trailer for a game, we usually expect gameplay footage from that game. But, hey, maybe that's just us.Then again, it's a puzzle game. So we pretty much know the score.%Gallery-17846%[Via Go Nintendo]
