Vogster has revealed that Unbound Saga is coming to Xbox Live Arcade. If you generally stick to the Xbox spectrum of the gaming world, there's a fair chance you haven't heard of Unbound Saga. Released last year for the PSP, Unbound Saga is a side-scrolling beat-'em-up with more than a passing resemblance to the old 16-bit title Comix Zone (also available on XBLA, incidentally). It didn't exactly bring in the best reviews -- even our brief time with it at NY Comic-Con 2009 was unimpressive. Aside from that, the beat-'em-up genre already has some standout titles on XBLA, especially with the recent edition of Final Fight: Double Impact. That said, the XBLA version of Unbound Saga brings with it the addition of cooperative play, which was missing from the PSP version. It also appears to have improved graphics. Check out a new trailer after the break. [Via GamerBytes]

Looks like the PSP resurgence is kicking in just in time for Unbound Saga, a PSP-exclusive beat 'em up that's heading solely to the PlayStation Network. When we saw it months ago, we were worried that no one would notice a PSP download-only title. With Patapon 2 and PSP go, more and more people have been paying attention to the download capabilites of the PSP. Who knows, perhaps this Comix Zone meets Duke Nukem-ripoff will actually have a chance at selling some copies.

Vogster just announced that its comic book inspired beat-'em-up Unbound Saga is hitting (ow!) exclusively via the PlayStation Store on July 16, bypassing UMD altogether. THWAD! In fact, Mario Kroll, Vogster's director of marketing, called UMD "an unpopular delivery medium." DOUBLE-THAWD! Check out our hands-on New York Comic-Con impressions of the game, which, at the time, didn't really strike us (ow!) as all-that great.

Let's face the truth: new PSP exclusive games are far and few. We were surprised to hear that Dark Horse Comics was going to announce a brand new game for the PSP at New York Comic Con. Even more surprising is the game's unique distribution model: it is a brand new game that will be available exclusively on the PlayStation Store for PSP.This brawler is planned to release simultaneously with a brand new satirical comic series. You play as Rick Ajax and Lori Machete, two fighters on a journey to meet "The Maker." Rick Ajax suspects that he's trapped in a comic book, and he's trying to fight his way out. Unfortunately, "The Maker" will make things won't make it easy, drawing in new challenges and enemies in the panels Rick travels across.%Gallery-44095%
