WoW.com and our sister site Big Download have teamed up to provide you with some lightening fast mirrors of patch 3.3.5. These patches are for the Mac and PC versions, and will only work with North American versions of WoW. The European and international versions of the patch are not out yet -- they're coming next week. World of Warcraft Patch 3.1.2 mirror
Patch 3.1.2 was released today, and that means the Blizzard downloader will inevitably become clogged and congested tonight as millions of people around the world try to update their game to the latest version.Our sister site Big Download has posted a patch mirror for us all, and you can head over there and grab the file to download. They are currently hosting both the PC and Mac versions, and we'll have international versions up soon.Stay tuned to WoW Insider for the latest on the patch, and what will hopefully be a smooth and bug free transition from 3.1.1. Patch 3.0.8.9506 mirrored at Big Download
Big Download has mirrored today's patch for us all. You can head over there and grab both the Mac and PC versions. While the download is small, just under seven megs, the Blizzard downloader has been known to lag out and not work correctly at times. And these times usually occur right on patch day, so we've got you covered.This patch fixes some bug that have been around since 3.0.8 went live last Tuesday. We know at least three confirmed bugs it fixes, but we're not sure about the rest. This patch is being called 3.0.8.9506 or 3.0.8a.Happy patch day!As usual, please do not leave comments with external download links as we cannot verify their integrity. Client patches for Wrath of the Lich King
To play Wrath tonight you'll need to update the game. The game installs version 3.0.1 when you upgrade to Wrath, and you'll need to update it version to 3.0.3. That means installing the following two patches: Version 3.0.1 - > Version 3.0.2 Version 3.0.2 -> Version 3.0.3 You are in luck though and don't have to wait around to download them all. We have the files hosted over at our sister site Big Download. Take a look after the break for a complete list of the files you'll need to get.Note: If you saved the files from previous patches, you're all set. But be sure they work and are fully saved before you go out and get Wrath tonight – no need to waste time downloading stuff again.
Featured Download: Wrath Downloader [Update]
Wrath of the Lich King appears to be downloadable after all. If you go into your account menu, you can access the "World of Warcraft Installer." You'll be presented with an application which allows you to select to download Wrath.The download currently does not work – it gives an internet connection error. This is to be expected. I would fully expect that the download will work after 12:00am EST Thursday.We have the Wrath downloader up at our sister site Big Download for the PC and MAC (which runs on AOL networks so it's not going to go offline), or you can get it from Blizzard's site (which we all know goes offline when more than 10 people decide to view it at once). If this is your only way to get Wrath tonight, expect to have to wait a bit for the Blizzard downloader to work – but you'll at least get it.Update: It should be noted that since this story went live, Blizzard has said this download is currently unsupported. Of course, this could change quickly - and we fully expect it to change around midnight tonight. Be assured: the download is from Blizzard and by Blizzard. Not some third party site.
Wrath downloadable on release day after all? [Updated]
Yesterday I reported that according to Claudiog Wrath of the Lich King would not be immediately available for digital download. An interesting thing has shown up on the European forums tonight that is worthy of bringing this topic back up.Lyonthri posts in German that Wrath of the Lich King will be available for download next Thursday.I'm scratching my head here too. This was brought to my attention a short time ago, and has since showed up on MMO-Champion as well. So something is definitely up. We're paying attention to the Customer Service Forums tonight in hope of getting some more clarification from Blizzard. The full German text of Lyonthri's post, along with a Google translation, appears after the break.Update 4:40 a.m. EST: Claudiog has clarified his earlier point that he said there should be no expectation of a digital download being available on release day, not that there would not be one.Updated 3:17 p.m. EST: Lyonthri has since updated his post informing us that he is not saying there will be a digital download available on release. He apparently misspoke.
No Wrath digital download immediately available
Claudiog has confirmed what we've speculated for a while. The digital download of Wrath of the Lich King will not be available right away next Thursday.The digital download for Burning Crusade took a few weeks to get going, and while Claudiog can't say if the Wrath version will take as long, he does mention it won't be available immediately.This is important if you're living someplace far off and are expecting to be able to download Wrath the night it releases. While there will no-doubt be places around the internet where you can do it – you will have to use those places at your own risk.You'll hear it here when the digital download does finally go live, but don't expect it anytime soon.
