The patch notes for the patch 3.3 PTR have been updated. This latest iteration of the patch notes gives, in particular, warlocks and rogues some of the love that they've been waiting for (although I'm sure it won't be enough for some/most). Some highlights: Deadly Poison: In addition to its existing effects, when a rogue applies Deadly Poison to a target which has already reached the maximum number of applications, this will also trigger the poison which the rogue is using on his or her other weapon. Improved Poisons: Bonus chance to trigger Deadly Poison from this talent increased. Improved Drain Soul: This talent now reduces threat by 10%/20%, up from 5%/10%. Destructive Reach: This talent now reduces threat by 10%/20%, up from 5%/10%. There are also a new slew of bug fixes. All the updates after the break.

Blizzard has just released the patch notes for the Patch 3.3 PTR. As with all PTR patch notes, please be aware that they are the early stages of the finalized patch notes, and not everything may yet be in them. These notes are particularly shorter than what most would expect, however there are still some juicy goodies. The PTR is not up yet. You'll hear it here when it is. These notes come a day after the information and pictures of Icecrown were released. Some of the highlights from the patch notes released thus far: The Forge of Souls, the first wing of the 5-player dungeon, is currently available for testing. Additional Icecrown Citadel dungeon and raid content will be made available in future test builds Misdirection: Redesigned. Instead of having finite charges, it now begins a 4-second timer when the hunter using Misdirection performs a threat-generating attack, during which all threat generated by the hunter goes to the friendly target. In addition, multiple hunters can now misdirect threat to the same friendly target simultaneously. Rogue Vanish: For the first second after this ability is used, neither Vanish nor Stealth can be broken by taking damage or being the victim of a hostile spell or ability. Shaman Fire Nova Totem: This totem has been replaced with a new spell, Fire Nova, which is available at the same ranks as the old Fire Nova Totem. Existing characters will automatically learn this new spell in place of the totem. With a Fire Totem active, shamans will be able to use Fire Nova (fire magic) to emit the same area-of-effect damage as the old Fire Nova Totem from the active Fire Totem, not consuming the totem in the process. Fire Nova will activate a 1.5-second global cooldown when used and has a 10-second spell cooldown. The caster must be within 30 yards of the totem to use this ability, but does not need to be within line of sight of the totem. Black Magic: This enchantment now sometimes increases haste rating for the caster rather than inflicting the caster's target with a damage-over-time effect. It is also now triggered by landing any harmful spell rather than inflicting damage with a spell. Entire patch notes after the break. This post is currently being edited.

  • Arcane Brilliance: Patch 3.2 for Mages

Each week Arcane Brilliance sits down to write a column about Mages and all things Mageworthy. Big news this week in Mageville: Patch 3.2 is hitting the PTRs. And we all know what that means -- new Mage cat forms. Finally. Having had some time to ingest the 3.2 PTR patch notes, I feel I can now speak about them in a calm, rational manner. The PTR (and all of the additional changes that tend to take place therein) is only just beginning, and yet there are already so many nuggets of newness to devour that my news-stomach feels full to the bursting point. The Isle of Conquest... the death of 2v2 Arenas... Engineering becoming cooler... Emblems of Conquest dropping from heroics (?!)... the fact that Blizzard is now shutting all twinks away together in their own battlegrounds, exiled from the general populace, where they can only pwn each other all day long, until one day Kurt Russell is sent in to rescue the president after Air Force One crashes there... there's simply so much to take in that it's been a little bit difficult to process it all. And yes, once again, looking at those patch notes, I can't help but feel a bit underwhelmed at the 3 lines Mages got. Does every other class really need that much more fixing than us? Really? Still, what's there deserves some analysis. We're not getting much, fellow Mages, but what we are getting is fairly significant. So let's all stop staring at the 72 changes Death Knights and Paladins got for a few minutes and have a little talk about the notes for Mages, such as they are. One nice thing about the lack of changes we're getting: according to the brand new Mage Q&A, Blizzard thinks we're fine, which of course explains why we're not getting messed around with. More on that next week, after I've had a chance to make my peace with God and get my affairs in order. In fact, Blizzard has long suggested a direct corollary between the amount of changes a class is receiving and the general status of the class. Looking at the patch notes, I can't help but notice the following: Mage changes: 3... Warlock changes: 8. I'm looking at this as statistical proof that Warlocks are almost three times as screwed up as Mages. It's good to see Blizzard accept what I have always known: Mages are way better than Warlocks. Just like I've always said.

  • WoW Patch 3.1 PTR Warrior changes

I want you to try and remain calm, okay? I know as warriors you're crazy excited for all the twists and turns for the class on the PTR. While I can't hit all of the highlights, I can give you a taste.Warrior ARMS Blood Frenzy improved to 2/4% increased damage. Heroic Throw missile speed increased. And we're done. Now's a good time to remind everyone that these patch notes are not in any way, shape or form complete, and that there will almost certainly be more changes. We've already seen posts from Ghostcrawler indicating that a lot more than this was in the works, so we can consider these changes just preliminary. So why just roll these two out for warriors? Both are good changes, it's true, but when some classes are seeing major overhauls these look rather paltry. What's going on?

  • Patch 3.1: Yaaarrrr! now has a detailed tooltip. That is all.

We have the first piece of the PTR 3.1 Patch Notes.Right from Zarhym's mouth tonight. Yaaarrrr! Now has a detailed tooltip. Well thank god for that, I mean what would have happened if Yaaarrrr!'s tooltip got left out? I mean, that would be tantamount to not letting clams stack. And we all know what happened to that.By the way, Yaaarrrr! is the spell that comes with the Savory Deviate Delight that turns you into a pirate or a ninja. It does look like there's a good bit of activity going on over at the official forums – the PTR forums have gone up and came back down, and there are several new stickies over there. This kind of activity usually happens right before the PTR client is available for download and the realms go up – but they could just be getting this out of the way before they go home for the weekend. In which case it wouldn't be surprising at all to see the PTRs up on Monday. But with that said, there's half a dozen of us up at WoW Insider HQ tonight that will be anxiously waiting to cover all the news.
