For the first week beginning Monday, November 20th and ending Sunday, November 26th, a week of contests and gifts both great and small, we give you: 5) Some people aren't fit to own a DSElite Beat Agents is so hardcore, it drives people to acts of random destruction. Well, one person, at least. And it may not have driven him so much as it was already there when he arrived at crazytown. Judge for yourself. 4) Big gifts for Animal CrossingIt was a good week to be playing Animal Crossing -- the release of the Wii brought all sorts of quirky gifts to towns everywhere. 3) DS jam bands imminentOne intrepid homebrew artist is working to turn the DS into an interactive MIDI maker that can play nice with anything on a wireless connection. We ooh and ahh at the appropriate moments. 2) Game night successThe first DS Fanboy Game Night featured the confused trading of friend codes and the lamentations of those who didn't own Mario Kart, but despite obstacles, tracks were raced upon, fun was had, and the staff took a beating. All is right with the world. 1) Snag free DS and GBA swagMutilate a picture of Tony Hawk and win a free copy of his Downhill Jam. Even if you lose, you win -- because what's more fun than putting Tony Hawk into a bowl of mashed potatoes? There's still time to get in on the action.

    Hmm, we wonder what could be the most important Wii news of the week? If only there were some feature that was designed to consolidate, say, the top 5 stories from the week based on relevance and reader support into one, easy-to-read post. If only we knew of a way ...5) Nintendo's component cables go bye-byeThose looking for cables straight from Nintendo themselves are out of luck as their stocks have already been depleted.4) Wii channels lack that newly-finished smellThose who have come home with a Wii under their arm today found out that all of the Wii channel functions are not operating properly and won't be for some time.3) Nintendo: Nope, no DVD confirmed for territories outside JapanA Nintendo UK spokesperson comments that a new Wii console with DVD playback rumored to release sometime next year in Japan is not confirmed for other territories.2) Miyamoto wanted the Wii to cost less than $100.00During an interview with BusinessWeek, Miyamoto says he wanted a cheaper console.1) We hit Times Square for the launch!We're in the thick of it, covering the NYC launch!

Who wins? Wii, of course! 3) The Wii demo kiosks go up Finally, readers can now go to their local EB Games or GameStop store and play with the Wii! Also, they helped shed some light on that awkward Startup Disc issue.
