Sony says the DSC-T33 is coming to America
When we first wrote about the DSC-T33, the even slimmer (it's just a half an inch thick) update to Sony's already pretty dang skinny five megapixel DSC-T3 digital camera, we figured that Sony would continue the fine tradition they started with the DSC-T3 and not actually ever release the camera here in the States. We were so wrong. Sony has kindly confirmed that the DSC-T33 (which besides being on the slender side also has a 3x optical zoom lens and a 2.5-inch LCD screen) will actually go on sale here in March with a retail price of around $450. The one thing they (probably) won't be doing is releasing the DSC-T33 in those questionable blue, cream, and red colors; nah, they'll be sticking to safe old silver.

The T33 looks awesome! I'm probably going to buy one for cheap when I go to Hong Kong in July!

That's a beautiful camera

It too bad Sony is hampered by their memory stick. Otherwise this camera would rock.

cool... BUT while the new T33 may LOOK slimmer, the metal framework surrounding the body makes it actually BIGGER all around than the T3 (9mm wider, 1mm taller, 1mm thicker)...

wow this camera looks tiny and has an optical zoom! hopefully it doesn't weigh too much.

I recently bought a blue T33 off the internet and I <3 it! It's not only a very "cute" little camera but it does everything I need it to do and is perfect to carry around with me in my bag! It's very tiny but has a nice substantial feel to it, yet not heavy at all. The 2.5" LCD is very nice for taking pics and previewing them! Thus far, the camera is very user-friendly, yet you probably should crack open the manual and read through a few things.
The flash and zoom are rather decent, and much improved from the T1. The t33 also takes excellent videos, so I do reccommend buying a 1 Gig High-speed Duo Pro Memory stick (mine's made by Sandisk) to take full advantage of it.
I already had a Canon A-80 which takes awesome pics, but I didnt enjoy carrying it around with me due to it's slightly bulky size. The Sony is perfect for just that, pics on the go!
Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.
I am now impatiently waiting the release of it in the States next month, so that I can buy a genuine Sony case made for the T33 to protect it's giant LCD screen in my bag. (Unfortunately, there's a lot of knock-offs floating around on the internet.)

I have a T7.
I like the T33 but with the T7 out, the 33 looks like old cheese.
I was really turned off by the camera's ugly, UGLY brown buttons. They should have been BLACK. Brown looks so "nasty"...like doodoo.
I wish Sony could have made the T7 with the same internal cover the T33 has. The slide really does get annoying and when it accidentaly opens, it wastes power.
The T33's photo quality is the same as the T1 and T7. SONY's entire line of cameras mimics the rest of the line. This is good because you know exactly what you're getting but, it sucks because you don't feel like you've paid buku bucks for anything more than a slimmer model.
