Hot tip for laser owners: don't point at airplanes
Just in case you're the proud but clueless owner of a laser pointer, and want to highlight the heavens without being tagged as a terrorist, the website of Sky & Telescope magazine offers some, er, pointers on the proper use of said devices. Their first tip: don't point it at a person, aircraft or vehicle. Bet David Banach of New Jersey wishes he had thought of that before he decided to test his aim by shining his laser at both a jet and a helicopter.
