Grolsch's blikbeugel can cap
It's a little early for us to celebrate Oktoberfest (ah, who are we kidding, every Friday is Oktoberfest at Engadget HQ), but Grolsch totally hit us hard up with their new blikbeugel: all the fun of the old-school Dutch bottleneck beerseals, but without the daunting possibility of messy broken-glass bar fight stabs to the abdomen. But our favorite thing about the blikbeugel is perhaps its anti-competitive fit, a rather nice touch which makes it incompatible with cans of Heineken. Way to go guys, now how about some wearable-display beer goggles, or at least an attachment for a 40?

Finally! After all those months of PSP and Treo news on Engadget an item about a device that will enrich my life!
Oh my god! what a week!
Monday the Blikbeugel goes on sale and on Friday Apple's Tiger...
BTW, 11 cans of Grolsch with one Blikbeugel will go for $11.
So one Tiger = 129 cans of Grolsch...
PS: I can see the old Grolsch Brewery from my living room window :-) No kidding!
where can I purchase this?!?!?!
I saw something like this that worked with normal cans maybe a decade ago in a convience store in canada. Sadly I did not purchase it.
I don't drink beer so I know nothing about it. Does this cap have some sort of benefit, or is it just a strange attachment?
Well, it's just a one-time marketing stunt for the upcoming Queen's day. Those Blikbeugels are only available in a box with 11 cans and as far as I know they will only sell a limited number of those boxes.
I'm afraid that you won't be able to purchase it outside the Netherlands.
Wow, now if they could find a way not to have their beer taste like pencil eraser shavings.
I see no real use for this unless it was some sort of newfangled martini shaker.
Things I Learned in College: the cap of a Grolsch bottle makes an excellent roach clip.
I just bought the blikbeugel and it's awsome.. the only problem is that it's not able to close... (problem solved by changing the cap with one from a 'real' beugel.)
Jesus H. why didn't I think of that!
