The RFID train just keeps chugging along,
popping up in places you least
it. TEK Industries is the latest to get in the game,
putting an RFID scanner in a mousepad. The TEK Mousemat will work with any desktop, laptop, or Pocket PC, via a USB
connection, and is aimed a wide range of potential markets, including inventory management, computer security, facility
access control, file tracking, item verification and authentication. The company also hopes it'll make RFID a
more attractive option for small and medium-sized businesses that don't have massive budgets. At the rate things are
going, maybe we should start talking about things that haven't been RFIDified.
