iPodlounge reviews Logitech's Wireless Headphones for iPod
The iPodlounge already got their mitts on the new Logitech Wireless Headphones for the iPod introduced today. To sum it up — they are "slightly better than okay." Ouch! While these new Bluetooth headphones deliver "adequate" wireless stereo sound as promised, they don't deliver the experience expected for the $150 price tag — and their (necessary) bulk and "old-school" design make them uncomfortable to boot. Shipping in July, the lounge-o-iPod would opt for similarly priced Bluetooth headphones such as the naviPlay offering better features with similar wireless ranges. And yes, those are the same headphones Logitech started producing for HP last year — only now in iPod gray and holy white.

couldn't you just use an ordinary FM headset combined with an FM modulator broadcasting from the iPod?

Hey, if people can't tell you're listening to an iPod cuz you're wearing butt-ugly headphones, you might not get mugged. That's worth $150, isn't it?

Yeah but then they'll probably relise you've got wireless headphones and steal them
(eventhough they wouldnt work without the modulator)

The Wall Street Journal also has a negative review on them http://ptech.wsj.com/archive/solution-20050622.html

We posted our coverage last night at midnight as well... I think they're worth $150 if you really hate wires.

Oh well its about bloddy time, I don't use those silly little ear buds anyway - they end up hurting my ears. I use nice comfortable big ones.
Wireless should be on Apple's list of To-Do's for its next model.

When it breaks..(It will) then you can hack it like this:

I have a pair of the iPaq version of these, and I like them a lot. You would not believe how much freedom you have when you don't have any wires to deal with.
As a side note, yes they are very uncomfortable. My ears hurt after I use them. All things considered, I've gone back to wired headphones after I got over the novelty of these. The behind-the-ear design of them means that the entire weight of the headphones will be constantly pulling on your ears. My ears are already big... I don't need to look like Yoda.
