CEA provides CC software for testing DTV

CEA logo

Kudos to the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) for providing DTV set manufacturers a set of software to test Digital Television Closed Captioning (DTVCC). The CEA released the software today on DVD for less than $200, which any of the major DTV manufacturers can easily afford. The DVD is intended to provide various bitstreams for testing a DTV tuner device's ability to handle the ATSC Closed Captioning data.

Sometimes we get so involved in the video of DTV that we overlook the sound and the accessibility of the audio for those that have limited or no hearing. Rock on CEA!
